Seriously!! (well, as seriously as you bunch can make it). Try to give logical and reasoned answers please, explaining why you think your nominee would be suitable and effective.
And nothing negative - I don't want to know who you wouldn't want to be a Mod for a Day cos I've got my own list! I look forward to reading your nominations.

I thought about it and then decided to go and look at the top 100 forum users, a load of really good posters in there, but for me someone really stood out...
And i nominate, as Mod for a day...
Fabio Grooverider.
He's a very decent guy, most of his posts, that i seem to recall, are spot on and down-right helpful. He's well known , organises munches and isn't averse to pointing out when someone is being a bit ... erm... wrong, but fairly and without being nasty.
And he has a fantastic wig.

Reasons:
1) She has been a member on here for a long time and as far as I know has managed to avoid offending too many people.
2) She has shown her commitment to the site already when it comes to organising Munches etc.
3) She spends half her life at her computer anyway so would be here to catch the TTTT at any time of day or night.
4) She always has time for people whether they are newbies or not.

6) She is a good friend and wont ban me when I post something stupid!

and as much as hate to admit it, i stand by them :D Reading his posts makes me think he would be fair but firm.He has time on in hands, and is always there with a friendly smile, help and advice and doesn't judge peeps because they are differant
My vote goes to Sarah (formerly Sarah1448) for the following reasons:
She has the maturity to deal with sensitive issues fairly but she also has a sharp sense of humour and gets involved in the giggles we have in here. She has organised - or helped others organise - many socials / munches / meets. She is also one of SH's Mentors for newbies needing help. (hope I wasn't supposed to say that, please edit if I'm wrong). Sarah is an all round bloody nice person but she will mercilessly slap down anyone who is being a general ass.

Being popular doesn't necessarily make a good moderator.
While I'm not quite sure why anyone would want to be a mod for a day, as it looks like a lot of hard work slogging through the trolls and photo ad abusers, I'd say Tattyxpx has the right balance of skills to control the rabble, which she has ably proved in the chatroom.... of course we'd need to send one of the chatphobic forum mods over to the chatroom to take her place, which could be highly entertaining!

Just out of interest, how doyou decide on who becomes mods? Is it like a vote where you have several members then choose? When do you decide new mods are needed? Is it every X number of members?

Don't accept a drink off of any Mod at a munch..... you'll find a shilling at the bottom and you'll get press-ganged for 5 years service... just like in they used to do to get recruits into the Royal Navy
