Without condoning or condemning - might I suggest posting in "Cafe" as a discussion topic rather than a meet? And pose it as an enquiry rather than a moan?
Reason simply being with so many single guys about:
1) Even if we were all genuine
2) And if couples/single ladies seeking us were numerous and available enough
3) And everyone did follow-up on communication
... we would all STILL have to do our bit of "selling ourselves", giving them a reason to want to meet us. So, only the strong survive ;) Just my tuppence.

Hi Lizbiandpaul, don't recollect his name if it is the guyi think you mean. I wondered why i joined SH how can you make people takein interest in me when there are so masny guys to choose from. Seriously though - yes its hard for single guys (As a general opinion). There's more chance of spotting the 5% wankers of single guys (based on numbers) as there will be loads more about compared to the 5% wankers in single females or couples, so its not "single guys are bad" thing - purely numbers.
I say, get to a party, walk up to someone, introduce yourself and smile sweetly, in the knowledge that the introduction is just that, and get to know them a little and see what happens.
PS: By "Get to know them" I don't mean their full address and NI numbers (that's just stalking!) - I like to know what tickles ones fancy and test my memory to see if I remember should I bump into them later ;)
