Being 67, healthy and active if possible I do wonder why there seem to be so few others of about my age who seem interested?

Well I'm 63, and for those who are younger, and who imagine that at my age I should be consigned to the tip, I assure you that all is working as it should.
In my head I'm still 28, (I liked being 28), and whilst common sense tells me 25 year olds are out of my reach without a lottery win, there's really no reason why not, except that I'm not a very good prospect for life's journey!! lol
I'm as sexual a being as I was then, can still make love for an hour and do it again 20 minutes later, (not sure about a third time though), usually "where's your Savlon" and "you can forget THAT" is the response.
In some ways nature would be kinder if it let up a bit. I suppose one day it will, but for now I can say that I never found anything better than sex and continue to enjoy it.

:? :? :wink: Well I'm not quite in your league at 55, but there are still those who think I should be down the allotment or in the British Legion supping a pint of mild rather than playing at Chams or looking for friends to have naughty fun with. I just ignore them as I'm having fun, have not had too many complaints yet and as the special lady in my life is 30 years younger than me, I'm sure I would have by now if she wasn't at least reasonably happy :-)

Yes I looked at dawnie's profile, she is younger than at least two of my children!
As for the rest. I remember being told that youngsters do it all night but we older people take all night to do it.

All I know is that I enjoy it a LOT and especially enjoy sex with someone of my own age, probably because there is more that we would have in common and perhaps more 'understanding'?

Yep. Older ladies seem to have an agenda. They seem to be seeking a life partner. A lady contacted me from a dating site and then without meeting me said, "No you won't do", "You haven't been divorced long enough". Meaning I suppose, not desperate enough.
There probably are ladies out there who'd like to meet for love making. I'd happily choose to be exclusive with a lady like that, and maintain my independence, t'would be delightful. How to meet up, there's the rub, (or not

I doubt it is desperation she would be looking for - nothing less attractive to be honest. She was probably judging that you were still working through the baggage of the divorce etc. It takes years to settle down after a split and many people have no desire or need to deal with someone else's history.
Since she contacted you from a dating site, an aim of finding a life-partner seems a reasonable 'agenda'. If she wanted a shag she would have been on a swinging site?

For sure you're right about the settling down bit, but the net result was still that she was playing the percentages fairly ruthlessly in search of her man, and had been doing so for some years!!! Sometimes you just need to open up a bit.
At a recent funeral a few of the men sitting around chatting were asked how they would fair if they lost their spouses. Most said they would marry again very fast, that they didn't have a clue how to take care of themselves. Playing the field was not really of interest to them. Different from divorce of course.
The thing is most people, including me, would not naturally come here for a date, even if they hoped sex would be the result. I like it here for the open attitudes that can be expressed, but I like the old fashioned chase a bit too. When I was young sex was about on every corner, a certain amount of playing the game was required, but when the knickers came off it wasn't naturally assumed that a ring would follow.
It's not so easy to go hunting now. They're not to be found on the beach or at the disco, nor is their availablity so eaily judged. Dating sites are a meeting ground, inadequate and mostly aimed at life partnerships, but at least there's a group of available women gathered there! I suppose "dating" has always been a partner search thing, it's just that it bought irresponsible youth like me a simply fantastic time which I miss!!

My thoughts.
I think that there must be women who find themselves in the same situation as I am.
They don't want to change their lives but do want some sex life.
I know, as one does, that sex drive doesn't necessarily get less with age, in women or in men. If we are healthy we retain healthy needs.
Perhaps some women of my age are somehow 'ashamed' their bodies or of needing sex? This is a great pity. Who cares about a few lumps or scars? No-one, if the will is there.
