I am doing a list for a BBQ
What are things you need for a good BBQ, apart from the BBQ itself and friends.??

Drinks and food mainly lol

Always find that you can get some real good food from Morrisons for BBQ's. Ribs, Kebabs, smoked chicken etc.
Also find that having some salad goes down well.

utensils
a GOOD BBQ chef!!
something to light bbq with
charcoal (if thst the fuel of choice)
sausages/bugers/buns/steaks/chicken pieces/veggie options/salads/jacket spuds
tomato sauce/brown sauce/bbq sauce/salad cream/mayo
fairy/outside lights
chairs
large table
plates/glasses/cutlery/serviettes
citronella candles to repel insects
oven gloves/tea towels
salad servers/tongs
music
err..... party guests, think thats it

Or else cook the veggie options on the grill and keep them wrapped up in the tin foil and heated on the BBQ.

Can recommend Tesco Finest Jalapeno burgers, and also bananas drizzled with honey and bbq`d in some tin foil. Yum!

Get better sausages and burgers from your local butcher if they make them in house all the better. Normaly cheaper than super market and LOADS better taste wise, but this will depend a lot on your butcher. If buying lots a good butcher will give you a discount for bulk as well.
Don't buy the long life baps and rolls you can get made that mistake once, bloody horrible things. wink

also if your garden is in full sun, a parasol/sunshade or sunlotion (you dont want to feel as if you have been bbq'ed yourself.
if you are doing jacket spuds...chilli or curry or cheese or coleslaw for in the middle
ice (good for drinks, and also cooling burnt fingers wink

As a self confessed hater of salad- and I know lots of others like me- I was swayed by this recently. Yes, it was called a salad, but it didn't look like a salad, and it didn't ruddy taste like a salad- I ate four platefulls redface

Watermelon, cut into large chunks,
red onion, thinly sliced,
good quality feta cheese, diced
fresh mint, chopped
and a liberal amount of fresh lime juice.....
it may not sound it, but boy was it lush! :lickface:
PS, dont forget to make sure you have extra marg in for the rolls- easily overlooked!

Also lots of rice salads, boiled potatoes with mayonnaise and fresh chives, roasted peppers, plus tomatoes and onions cooked with Marsala.

You can use the same technique for vegetables such as carrots, but then you'd need a splash of olive oil as well, and seasoning of course.

Oh... and lots of ice.
Oh... and if you're serving spirits, keep 'em in the freezer to make sure they're extra cold. That way you can save the ice for when you burn your fingers/other external body parts! :thumbup:
