Slade - for a band whose music always lifts the spirit and makes you think "I remember when......."
I always stick them on when there are some cobwebs need clearing, sod the complexity of the music and the depth of the lyrics.
It just makes me Feeeeeeeel Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaalriiiiiiiiiite NoooWWWWWWWWWWW!

Queens Of The Stone Age
Queen has to take (appropriately) the crown.
Seeing them live was the best gig that I've ever seen, and is probably likely to remain so. And I've seen some very good contenders!
Rammstein, Alice Cooper and AC/DC have to come quite close.
Kat - With you there on Slade - I've met Noddy Holder a few times when I lived for a short time in Wilmslow.
.
But I loved Genesis (when Peter Gabriel was with them).
and Floyd......
the Stones....
Moody Blues (then the Blue Jays)....
REM...
the Verve...
PULP....
the Mavericks (don't laugh - they make me feel really happy and want to dance)
damn - so many great bands....
Sorry can't choose just one
hmmmmpf!
Yep - Queen, Squeeze,
and Supertramp
Bob Seegar and the Silver Bullet Band. (We've got tonight, Night Moves etc)
sheesh - how can anyone just pick one!
I love loads and for many different reasons
Other bands are wonderful but my vote must be for THE best....
Queen.....
Agreed Queen rocked...
:bounce:
grrrrrrr MissC - I forgot about T-Rex - I thought Marc Bolan was luvvly!
Early Fleetwood Mac (anyone remember Green Manolichy? - I know crap spelling) - Actuall I like the later Fleetwood mac stuff too.
I'm going to stop reading this thread otherwise I'll be back on again!
In no particular order:
In the 'good old days':
Creedence Clearwater Revival

Yep, that's afew, and I could think of two dozen more. But, if pushedfor one that I would be desperate to see:
The Chieftains
But as I love classical just as much:
Halle
Tallis Scholars
Artificer has great taste, bu tlet us not forget Neil Young & crazy Horse, and what about Elbow?
