Why do some advertisers insist on people being from the same region? I know its convenient to be close by. But if they are willing to travel and are punctual, what's the problem? I have known some advertisers refuse people on this point even before meeting.

Duncan you might as well ask why some people ask for partners who don't smoke or men without facial hair or partners with piercings. Location is just another preference. If you don't fit the criteria someone is asking for then move on and keep looking.

Lots of people don't have time to plan ahead. They are busy and like to have friends they can call on at short notice. Also, it's not a great mood-setter to greet someone who's just got out of a hot smelly car after a four hour drive.

I will not arrange a meet with someone out of my region, unless I know them to be reliable. I certainly would not travel any great distance to meet someone I didn't know. Fine if they really wanna travel to me, but in my experience arranging a meet with a stranger when time is limited who lives miles away never works. I just can't be arsed with the hassle, and the north west is packed full of swingers anyways, so I don't really need to look anywhere else. At the end of the day, it is my choice..... and it means I need to reply to less emails, any not from the NW just get binned.

I used to swing with a couple who travelled from Yorkshire, another couple who came all the way from Kent. The reason for their travels was to ensure they would not meet with anyone from their home region. So they preferred to travel on that basis.
I did feel for them as they waved goodbye in the morning knowing they had a considerable journey before getting home. But it was a good arrangement for all of us.
I initially had some of the irksome thoughts you guys have expressed but I am glad I went ahead and met them.

Warming the Bed
Got top marks......got an invite to the Village meet on sunday....but I was busy building my decking
