When I was 21 I had a 30" waist and weighed in at 10 stone 4 pounds. All the numbers have gone up since then, now I've a 36" waist and weigh 13 stone 2 pounds. I think I have a realistic fighting weight of 11 stone, OK I settle for 11.5 and a comfortable 34" waist line. I reckon it'll take me three months so I'll be ready for the sunshine.
I went to get a belt from the wardrobe and it won't go round anymore. Reluctant to go and invest in a whole new set of clothes with jackets to fit my tits in and 36" waist to fit my belly in its time for ACTION. So as a temporary fix I bought three pairs of trousers from Tesco for £17, £10 and Jeans at £4, (really).
SO STARTING JANUARY 3rd, who's going to join the SH diet group? (Got to leave enough time to polish off the Christmas Fare, and 3rd or 4th is probably back to work day for most of us).
So as not to muddy the site I thought we could all pm someone, (I volunteer but anyone), every Monday morning with our scale weight, and we set our own targets and admit to our current grossness. Whoever gets the pm's can post a single mail each week with a progress report.
All suggestions welcome, come forward, make your admissions and give your suggestions. Are you brave enough?
My diet? Well I've done this before so I know it works for me. I'm going to eat a proper lunch, (which I don't now), and cut out cakes, biscuits, booze and seconds. That should be enough. Oh, and walk a bit more. (I drank booze and ate pudding at parties during my last diet, an occasional rare binge seems to make no difference provided it's a one-off).
Im in....Ill join up.
Count me in, already started to take more exercise and I do eat healthy - I just need reminded to eat more often if the truth was known
Me too.
When I married I was 7st. Had a 20" waist. I was 23.
Now, I am nearly 35, 10st 11lbs and would not dream of measuring my waist, let alone telling anyone what it measured.
4 weeks ago, I was 11st 7lbs, so I am getting there. Am told my goal weight should be 7.5 st but am aiming at 9.5, meself.

I've been trying to lose weight for ages. I tried the healthy eating thing and it made no difference. I fear that the only thing that will work now is the e word. The e word!!!!!!!
<shudder>
Count me in too! smile
I'd be happy to get into a Marks and Spencers size 16... If there is one thing I've learnt is not to aim for the sky where dieting is concerned... step by step is the key... Vix is doing the right thing... aiming for something that is reasonable and when she gets there she may or may not feel like taking it further! :)
Positive mental attitude everyone! biggrin

No! No! Don't do it!
Please.. you'll regret it!
I need to shed a few stone as well!!!
If i do the 'E' word that means i wont have anytime to come on the net!!
I'm afraid the e word is the ONLY way I can loose weight sad
Mind you an hour in the gym, 20 minutes in the pool and 20 minutes in the sauna/jacuzzi does me wonders

lolololololol ... bite me
I'm starting on monday ;)
I started yesterday. about 2 years ago I bought the book "The Raw Energy Bible" by Leslie Kenton, I olloed it for a while and lost wait, woke up quicker, got tired less, lost some achy joints.
Now after a period of eating 'normally' I'm going back to it again, to a great way to start a diet. I was 11 stone 12 on Monday, my goal is 11 stone, I will be at about 11stone 7 by Christmas wink

OOOOOOOOOOohhhhhhhhhhh now there's an offer .......
I can think of a number of places honey
I'll wait to make a sensible reply about organising this thing until tomorrow, when everyone's had a chance to pick up on it. I'm sure it will help me to know I'm going to have to be honest with my peers.
Questions:
Does everyone agree it should have a fixed termination date? If so what, 3 months?
Should we take before and after pictures?
Should we have an end of term meet?

Vix that's nuts!
You're told it's smart to loose nearly a third of your body weight?
That's just unhealthy - that's marketing pressure gone mad! rolleyes
Yeah, is that BMI thing, I'm afraid. But I'm not gonna even try and go there. If I lost that much weight, I'd have no tits (again). Not gonna happen.

After the apples

I read "after the apples" and to be honest didn't want to look at anything else, the prospect is too much for me to cope with. How positively awful.
..and by the way, if your avatar is a recent you, why are you bothering? I think I'd be very delighted to look like that, I'd probably never put my clothes on! I mean stay in control by all means, but I think I had in mind people a bit more needy than your goodself!! mad

How about 6 months so that it coincides with the start of summer (less clothes - more flattering)
Before and after pictures could be good
An end of term meet would be great smile

It is a fairly recent photo, I was a 32" waist 3 years ago, 36" 2 years ago and hovering about a 34" again now. My belly sticks out too far is all really, oh, that and I'm starting to grow man boobs again!
