Corn on the cob.....

Love it..... or hate it....?
Here I am sat here, burning the tips of my fingers, and my lips trying to eat my lunch... and it suddenly crossed my mind am I really as odd as I think I am sometimes....
I prefer mine in butter with a splashing of salt biggrin

How do you eat yours without burning your fingers??

Two forks, one in each end, go at it like a typwriter (just like on the cartoons!!) (Who said tv couldnt be educational??!!)
Dont burn my fingers but the number of times I've burned my lips on hot butter...OUCH!
Has anyone ever found a use for the left over cob???

I lurveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee corn on the cob, but its not something id order on a date, with butter dribbling down my chin and bits stuck between my teeth for hours after confused

Ive got sweet little Minnie and Mickey Mouse corn forks, so no burnt or messy fingers!

not to mention the fact that it is probably the only edible food the body cannot break down....
not ideal for the backdoor brigade :shock:

ewwwwww that reminds me of my brothers description of it... Devils food he used to call it... for that very reason... It comes out the same way it went in... YUK YUK YUK

I use a sharp pointed knife and stick it in the end... forks are a bit too wide and don't really stay in too well..
and butter is OK, but I like mine with pesto on ... ( don't knock it until you have tried it )
mmmm... if there aren't any in the freezer, i am going to have to run off to the shop now to buy corn on the cobs...

we use to go to KFC and would say to Phil that i would have a "corn on the knob".then one day in the shop i asked for 2 pieces n chips and a corn on the knob redface

..............................i didn't go back in again smile

I love it.
My favourite way is steamed then popped on BBQ for a minute or two.
Big wodge of butter and coarse black pepper mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Fingers are the way forward as well.
It's not nearly as much fun unless you get the butter running down to your elbows. biggrin

Love corn on the cob, but one of my pet hates is those cutesy little prong-handle-things for eating it... more trouble than they're worth, keep falling out, then stabbing you in between the fingers which HURTS, and anyway you should only eat corn on the cob safe in the knowledge that you're about to get covered in butter. biggrin

Oooooh, I'm hungry now.
...Wanders off to check the freezer....

Generally like it with loads butter/salt - 2 people, one each side, nose to nose- rinsed away at the end with a nice Chablis or Muscadet - HEAVEN on earth.

I hate corn on the cob..........but weirdly love baby corn on the cob!!!!!!!

It 22:21 hrs, im freshly bathed and sitting here in me jammies (TM Tatty) and i want...........

*tatty goes to the freezer and sticks 2 mini corn on the cob's in a microwaveable dish... places 30mls of water in... cover with cling film.. pierces holes in top and bungs in the microwave for 4.5 mins....... biggrin

Turns round... sticks the kettle on to boil, 1 tsp coffe, 1 tsb sugar into a mug.... puts a spot of milk in the mug, pours boilled water from kettle into the mugs.....
Bends and gets a plate from the cupboard..... opens the butter... places a knob onto the plate... gets the salt out the cupboard above her head....
Turns back to the microwave removes the dish.... places the corn on the cobs onto the plate, picks up the coffee mug and walks into the forum, and see's GenHertsCpl wanted corn on the cob.... here you go hunny.... have mine :D
