I have come across this version of Tainted love "" and I like it but so many covers of original versions are so very poor.
Are there any covers you prefer to the originals?
And are there any covers you feel should be put in room 101?
I'm a big Queen fan- and just saw a clip on TV of Pink covering Bo Rap in concert. Surprisingly, it was actually bloody good!

Pink doing Boh Ho
Electric 6's cover of Radio Gag-Ga should not only be sent into Room 101 but he should be strung up by his nadgers and roasted over an open fire evil
Thumbs up for Nouvelle Vague's cover of Ever Fallen In Love With Someone. In fact most of their covers are stoooopendous! Not as good as the originals but pretty damn fine!
'Easy-Star All Stars'
They covered the whole of 'dark side of the moon' and 'ok computer' by Radiohead. In a Dub Reggae style.

oh joy, i've just found out they've covered 'sgt pepper' as well

Rocking out to Whiskey now Varca
I prefer the manson version to the soft cell or the original.
I prefer the tom waits version of heart attack and vine to the screamin' jay hawkins version.
whoever let timmy mallet lose on that brian hyland classic should be shot.

I can listen to these guys all night cool
Its very rare that I prefer a remake to an original but a few I do like are
DJ Sammys version of Boys of Summer (not even sure who sings the original.
I like the 1992 Undercover version of Baker Street, original by Gerry Rafferty.

Methinks Mr Manson will feature in my ladywank fantasy later
Ohh Personal Jesus biggrin Another one I prefer to the original Depeche Mode version

yep me tooo
also Love HIM covering wicked game chris isaacs
Arctic Monkeys covered 'Love Machine' by Girl's Aloud on Radio 1's Live Lounge album, in a very tongue in cheek way that never fails to make me smile.
In fact I like quite a number of the covers generated by Live Lounge. It changed my opinion of acoustic music completely. Particularly when the cover sounds entirely different to the original.
Rolf Harris Stairway to Heaven... Magic

Want more? I know so many......The butthole surfers version of American woman....The Residents album of Elvis covers....I have a reggae version of the whole of Pink Floyds dark side of the moon....I fucking LOVE cover versions the more they vary from the original the better....and Ben, Tom Waites' best cover is his version of Somewhere from west-side story
I nearly forgot this, this is absolute genius but apparently too long for you-tube
Given Bert & Ernie's prominence on the Google doodle today, I thought I'd offer this version of Bert & Ernie (from Sesame St) doing their tribute to Metallica.
Richard Cheese's lovely Swing version of Nine Inch Nail's Closer... :}

can we call "valerie" by mark ronson/amy winehouse a cover... since it was technically done by the zoutons first????
oh yes... the are few classic covers....
one step beyond by madness.....
a message to you rudy by the specials
Johnny Cash's version of NIN's Hurt was played at my best friend's funeral last year. Breaks my heart to hear it now
For an album full of covers I'll go with Jeffery Lewis's '12 Crass Songs', because hippy geeks from New York doing sweet and slightly inept acoustic versions of atonal cockney anarcho-punk should not work but they all do, mostly more so than the originals - and I have a weakness for Crass.
Suspicious Minds by Candy station I thought was better than uhhhuhhuh Elvis
How about The lemonheads Mrs Robinson , classic cover,
The band Nouvelle Vague are french and have 3 albums of New wave cover songs out, have a listen to them

I like both versions, I guess the DJ Sammy version is just converted to a music genre with which I have more of a connection. I like lots of what a lot of folks would probably call bad techno trance covers of songs for example Dario G's version of "Dream to me" by the Cranberries. Some not even covers I suppose, more remixs. Again with DJ Sammy theres the cover of Bryan Adams Heaven.
Heres one that always causes a shite load of debate  Whos version of "Run" is better, Leona or Snow Patrol? Dont mind the Leona version but I am firmly in the Snow patrol camp.
