If it's not long enough, you may have to let go before you get to the ground. But if it's not thick enough you can't get a proper grip and could slip off anyway.
So, I would say you need it long enough to reach the ground and thick enough to get a good hard grip on.

If anything makes me want to post more, it is seeing threads like this that are good natured, good humoured and have responses in them from a variety of people.
Responses like the one Fabio outlines above are what puts me off posting entirely.
The original question is entirely, either by fault or design ambiguous. You can infer what he means obviously based on the site, but inference is personal,subjective and entirely fallible and as such I think people made well intentioned humour out of the ambiguity of the question. None of the responses belittled the poster and I would have thought he would have been pleased his question garnered such a good natured response from a variety of posters on the forum.
I know when I joined if I had posed a question, I'd have been pleased with this kind of response. Or am I wrong here? Should I be offended ? Because to me, that seems like I am just being a little precious about it all and perhaps I should go away and weep into my lavender hanky about how cruel and nasty most folk on SH are.
If I really wanted a serious survey on male appendages to be voted upon by female members, then I'd make it patently obvious by the clear language used to avoid any confusion and perhaps do it as a survey. I'm sure there are threads where this has been discussed previously anyway that will shed plenty of light on it and I think even from the humourous/rude (delete depending on point of view) responses, it is pretty obvious what many of the ladies who did respond, have a particular fancy for.
My own personal preference, if we are talking about cocks, is neither. I have my own and that'll do me. Not that I have much choice in the matter anyway. Mrs R, surprisingly, enjoys both length and girth in equal measure. The more the better up to a point. I don't have the exact metric measurements to hand to be honest so I cannot give an optimal quotation on the ideal girth and length. I'd say somewhere between a bit bigger than average, and a bit less than Nuclear Submarine.
If we are talking about something else then I'd say I like them about a footlong, warm and smothered in a tasty crab pate.

Firstly my post was no 'snipe' so absolutly no reason to jump on the bandwagon. It has been brought over the last 6 months or so about people ripping other people's posts and twisting them. Only last week there was a post opened asking has the cafe forum gone down hill so to speak. I think it's fair to say we all knew what the subject matter is, but as it was left open to interpretaion, shall we say, it produced a homourous responce, the likes of which I haven't seen in the forum for a while.
It really made me laugh.
This sort of banter and mild hijacking of threads where thing go slightly pear shaped is one of the many things I enjoy about being here.
