Do SH members appreciate compliments by pm and email?

Absolutely, I've had some delightfull P.M's that have been complimentary and they have been a much treasured and welcome boost. Most P.M's are about specific things, such as meets etc or just some nonsense chat with people I know, but occasionally one pops up out of the blue thats from someone I havn't interacted with in the cafe very much that has a compliment in it and I really do appreciate it. Sometimes I get one that is no more than a sentance from someone and those are also viewed as being a compliment, lets face it, someone has taken the time to bother tapping some keys to say hello thats compliment in itself.

This is a good question Phire.
I have just spent the past four hours looking at a gorgeous arse but feel it would be a bit lame to e-mail to tell her. I'm sure she already knows her attributes, and has had her fill.

I dont mind pms as long as there not vulgar 1 i got yesterday just said mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm nice tits i replyed ....tx lol .

As I dont know you all too well I dont want to PM and annoy. I have PMd someone lately just to pay a compliment and weve had a great chat because of it.
I am realy happy that I did it now. lol

Compliments are nice but I always feel uncomfortable with them. I'm not one of these people who pretend they don't like compliments but secretly wants loads - I know a few people like that and it drives me mad!
I genuinely get embarassed and uncomfortable when I'm complimented and usually offend the person complimenting me as I don't know what to say! Now I just say thanks and move the subject on to something else. It's not so bad if it's online but in RL I find it very difficult to accept what people say and end up blushing and stuttering....I am getting a little better though smile

It is nice to get a PM from someone that isn't a "fancy a shag" one liner - it's nice to know that someone has taken the time to write something decent and well thought out.

I had one similar to that one but im afraid i didnt find it very complimentary :roll: quite opposite in fact. I def thought it was a i want a shg post and deleted'
I like complments to but it should be made clear when one is being given. Phire's example is a good one I certainly wouldnt object to getting one like that :D

Well I think I have sent about 5 or 6 compliment only PM's in my time here, always well received. There are more I would like to compliment, but I find I am better if somthing hits home to just write there and then. I suppose as a known non player (but damn I get tempted sometimes) it is easier to compliment without the 'wanna shag' backdrop...
Still on compliments whats has happened to the avatars lately? Couple of days away and they all look like you been to a pro photographer smile

Anyone who complains because someone PMs to pay a compliment is just downright rude and ungrateful, in my opinion.
Besides that, they also miss out on the chance to make a good friend too!

Nice thread.
I (MR) tend to be the one who writes on here. If ever there's a hint of quality breaking through in a post then it means that has had an input, albeit a rare input.
However, if we receive a compliment by pm on our ad/avatar (normally........infact always, directed at her) then Mrs. Foxy will always jump on and thank the author of the pm provided the pm is in the right spirit. smile

So yes, we think anybody should feel free within this community to pay compliments by pm.

It depends on the content and how you and the other person intend to come across.
I had one ages ago who replied to a post asking for company to a club and even though I said polietly thanks but no thanks, the person's eloquent thoughtful posts still bug me. I felt as if they were just to keep in contact so he could be considered to partner me somewhere else rather than just friendship or chit chat.
