Despite several messages to others on here in reply to adverts which meet my criteria as well as those of the op I have yet to get a reply. Is this a problem with others or am I doing something wrong? I am not saying I should get a positive response but a polite thanks for the message would be good.
I attempt to answer any questions asked, give a good genuine description of myself and circumstances, I have a picture on my profile and I am literate.
So what am I doing wrong? not one reply.
As I say I only respond to those ads which interest me and who's profile needs I meet.
come on people help me on this one.

Principal, yours is one of the most frequent complaints here on the forum, and there is little anyone can do about it.
Some members report getting a huge volume of responses to their ad, and simply do not have the time to go through and respond to all.

Yes it just takes a while.
Being active in the forums is a definitely plus though, that way people get to know you better and as you become more familiar the responses will increase.
You just have to be patient, give people time.

Yup I get that a lot. Usually I check to make sure they've read my message, and guess what.
Yes they have, but they can't be bothered to reply.
I always reply to any pms even if it is a polite thanks but no thanks. I would imagine somepeople recieve alot of pms and simply just do not have time to reply to them all, others just will not reply for whatever reason. Don`t be to dis-heartened im sure it happens to all of us at some point or another. As it has already been mentioned you could maybe get to know people in the forums or chat rooms. have to remember you are probably one of 300 that day that have replied to that ad...so to be honest your chances are slim to none !! I know when I first joined I was same I answered loads of ads... however I think that a better avenue to suceess may be to use the chat rooms and forims regualar.... people wil get an idea of what you like from that.. and also if possible get to the socials and munches. Once again people get to know you. Trust me at the socials and munches an awful lot of networking goes on. Hope you take the time to give it all a chance. good luck.

It is true though, once you start a dialogue even to say no thanks or think you made a mistake with the nic etc it does tent to start the ping pong tennis pm's! So now I answer the first pm politely but firmly, rarely replying to the second!
As a single guy, I think you have to stand out from the crowd......hard to do on here as they are so many but it can be done!

Dean's right - we have loads of replies many of who don't fit what we're looking for as they aint read the advert, many of who just aint read the advert, and there's even some (as mentioned above) that when you reply to them - they disappear!
socials are a good way forward (if you've got the time)- least you can have a chat etc without worrying who's going to hear you!
However - don't give up, believe me, as a couple, we do appreciate it when the right one pops up through all the dross

But then there are the sceptical here who would think that anything can be written in a profile, true or not but then if you ARE a vicar then it would be all truthful wouldnt it

We try and reply to every PM we get, the only ones we haven't are from single guys (two to date), most get a polite no thanks where we're not interested.
It helps though when people actually read the profile and what we're looking for instead of just sending a PM saying something like 'nice pics, if you want a good f--k without your bloke there let me know' :roll: :twisted:

maybe we ain't the best people to ask about your lack of responses? ;) forum types and ad types are different fishes altogether quite often? 
you ain't exactly given us much to go on, eh? ;)in answer to your question, i have never had a response to an advert, and very rarely had a reply to a reply to an advert? you however now have ((( *counts* ))) 19 replies to your OP? what does that tell you? :P ;)
