how can i find out if im contacting a full member or a member that cant reply to my pm .... id like to know as although we wouldnt share personal contact details with non members, we certainly feel we may be selling our soul or at least part of it for no good reason more than to make the non member feel good about themselves..
do we as members have this choice , knowing who paid up members are, before we reply to one of their adverts...the ones that can reply without forking out a further 50 or so quid for the priviledge??
it would be nice to know, personally i wouldnt want to send mail to non full paid members..

but they can place an advert...so to find out all i have to do is check their profile and it will say something about,
'username'has no profile text written yet. Contact them if you want to find out more.

ill assume as i have no other way of knowing, that its just the free members..
have you ever checked the number of people who have adverts...and are not 'members' in other words the ones we have been replying to and without realising it expect them to fork out 15 quid for a months membership without even being able to see a pic of who is interested in them...
we did just, 6 out of 6 nearest bi females to our location have the getting infamous with us text 'has no profile text written yet. Contact them if you want to find out more.' so we can assume they are non members or someone that just for a giggle has popped an advert up so they can read the replies...or thought they would be able to contact the members that reply with out further cost...
i feel quite sick to be honest the amount of pms , very personal ones too, we have sent to non members that were , lets be honest, never going to become members in the first place if they had to pay...still i know now and wont make the same mistake again..

well its made me look stupid, or at least feel stupid...it also made me feel there was a lot more paid up members joining than there actually is...still im sure now i know and everyone reads this they will be forwarned... erm but then not many read the forums these days do they...oh i dont know what ever can admin do to protect our interests???

what is a premium member? is that an ordinary paid member??
you cant have an ad without being a member though can you? and some people, like me, will choose to have a profile but not an ad?
you have to have an advert ...its part of the join up process before you pay..
surely though, someone can still be "active" or "looking" without having an ad.
it was just a suggestion as id noticed the premium members search option.
And to confuse the issue even more, what about us original free members who can reply?
We have profiles, can place adds, reply to ads and get and send mail.
There seems to be only one way to find out if a person is a free or a premium member. There is the facility on the “my search” option to search on the parameters you enter and choose either “all members” or only “premium” members. So if you go to “my search” – enter no parameters except “username” – and in the “profile” box, change the membership level to “premium” – then hit “search” at the bottom of the page.
The search facility is pretty slow and you may have to wait for a few minutes for a result.
If the username you entered is NOT a premium member you will get a message:
Sorry, that search has given no results.
You should still be on the “my search” main page at this stage, and its worthwhile changing the membership level back to “no preference” and repeating the search to confirm that the search engine can find the member on the database (for some reason there are one or two profiles that “search” doesn’t pick up).
It’s a clumsy, long winded way to find out, but it’s the only one I have so far found that works.
If they are not a premium member you can then try to persuade them to pay up lol
just tried that...erm actually im still trying that..popped user name into mysearch limited it to just females as she says shes female..limited it again to premium members...and ...ermm the search engine as i type 10 mins later is still searching

and still the page hasnt finished searching...tried this on another account and another internet server,, the page just doesnt load if you do a name search...well maybe it does but its been twenty minutes now lol

Yes the search engine is agonisingly slow at the moment, especially if it has to look through all 864,784 profiles !!! -- you can speed things up a little bit by restricting the search to characteristics you know about already from the person/couples profile -- age, distance from you, gender, what they are looking for etc. But you might as well put the kettle on while it churns away !!
So we never really got to the bottom of this and still dont know if an ad is from a free member who cant reply? Or a wink from someone interested and is unable to send anything else?
I have received a few winks off one particular guy and then thought that he must come under this catagory so replied and said that if this was the case to send 2 winks in succession.
He sent another wink and then some mindless message, the guy isnt a free member he is just a mindless jerk!
There must be something so that we can tell the difference easily?!?!?
