Please play nice, I really dont want to have to smackbottom
Well, actually I do want to :smackbottom: but this is not about my secret sexual desires its about tesco wink
isn't the statistic that 1 pound in of every 8 spent is done so in a tesco.......
i don't have a problem with them as such... but if they are using that kind of clout as has been alledged in the past , for example, the price they pay farmers for the milk......then that is a problem

As we are supposed to live in a democratic country why do people moan about the market share that Tesco's have? It is impossible for all the supermarkets to have an equal share of the spoils.
There are people out there who hate big business but they employ a lot of people and pay vast ammounts in tax to the Government, whats wrong with that? Bottom line is we all have choices and if people do not like to shop in Tesco's then luckily enough they have other choices available to them.
The farmers have been sucked dry not just by Tesco either but all of the big supermarkets, but we do not live in France where the farmers get massive subsidies, which the farmers have had to live with for years. Cheap prices paid to the farmers does have a knock on effect with cheaper prices for the consumer, which is really what most people bother about at the end of the day. The total cost of their shopping bill.
I do shop in tesco now and then but personally I try to get things from local shops and support local businesses wherever I can. Sometimes this isn't possible so I'll pop into tesco and get what I need.
I've always been brought up that it is important to support local business and I try to do so whenever I can. I don't have any feelings negative or positive about tesco, but I know that I'd rather buy my veg from a local farm shop as I know it is locally produced and fresh veg tastes better than the rubbish they sell in tesco.
i recently switched from sainsbury to tesco saved loads of cash but quality down. The worst thing was i took out a tesco club card and am now unindated with junk mail.
oh can i also say vive la co-op (apparently more retail outlets than any other organisation in the country)
