When my hubby passed away, I used to get really lonely in bed, and missed holding on to something. A friend bought me a teddy bear, and have slept with it for the last three years. It has been a real comfort to me.
The first time my other half came over and stayed I got really embarresed by it, as I had forgotten to move it. But he wasn't fazed at all!! He understands why I have it. I don't move it now, as I'm not worried any more.
My question is... are there others of or around my age who still have a teddy? I can't be the only one..
It would be interesting to see if anyone replies to this one...
Hope you're all having a good day!!
wink
When my husband and I split up, the kids bought me a gorgeous teddy for mothers day, not just a teddy, but it had two small teddies with it.
It's something they chose, went to the shops and bought together and were so chuffed when they gave it to me.
It's a pressie that I'll always cherish and they're kept in my bedroom,.... although I don't sleep with them, kind of scared to damage them, cos I want them forever. They've become more significant as time goes on, the kids are growing up, getting older, finding their own legs and are out and about so much.... without blummin old mum chasing after them, wiping their noses and spitting on their faces with bits of tissue out my pocket etc. confused
But those teddies, mum and two babies, reminds me so much of when we first moved into our house, kind of the three musketeers, only more girly lol
And now I'm sat here in tears!!!! :lol2:
My eldest has just 10 mins ago finshed her last exam and has now officially left school!!!!!
I want them to be babies again!!!!!! Just like the teddies! sad
And now the tears won't stop!!! can't see monitor

not a teddy as such but when dek goes away to work i bring out the extra pillows to stick down his side so i can feel something there redface sometimes i spray his aftershave on them to so i can smell him rolleyes sad but true
I've got one that my Mum bought me a few years ago. He has a little pouch that you can warm in the microwave and he's so soft and snuggly. I admit I did use him as a comfort teddy when me and Dai split and still do when I'm feeling down
What a nice post.... Well, i have a teddy that was given to me when i was born.. I was in great ormand street hospital when i was a baby and my mum & dad brought me this brown teddy and he stayed with me there.. I have had him ever since! He's moved to every house we have lived in and also was put in my children's cots when they were both born! now he sits up on my wardrobe as he getting a litte tatty but would never move him out or get rid of him because of sentimental reasons... think we all like cuddly teds lol
I've got a teddy too, it was the one my son was given by scbu when he "graduated" and came home! He has never shown any interest in it! But it means alot to me so its always on my bed redface .

That is right, get the eldest out to work as fast as possible, then your eldest can buy her won shoes / clothes etc!!
No teddies here, just a cat that think it has the right to at least 1/2 of the bottom of the bed, and then proceeds to do that pawpaw thing for at least 10 to 15 mins whilst it settles downand we can all go to sleep!
I have a teddy who is over 40 , an aunty bought him for me when i was tiny. He lives in my bedroom but he is all threadbare from being loved too much. When the little ones are poorly i let them have my teddy in bed to make them feel better cos they know he is special. I also have lots of teddies from the kids for mothers day etc that sit around gathering dust but I cant throw them out!!
If i am honest I still hug my teddy if i am upset and having a cry lol
teddy bear city in our bedroom and none of them are mine, but then if you had met rose it wouldnt surprise you would it

What a lovely post.....
I still have my most important ted from my youth - never was named but has always been there! Hidden away on a shelf now as I have Mrs Webster to cuddle lol.
Still have ex Mrs Webster stuff too (must be easier if they leave you)
My son has his special teddies (one a wallaby - my how we move on)
And I'm a bloke but the thread has bought a tear to my eye too.
Bad Miss kitty - but thanks always nice to remember lovely things
Ahhh do I give this much of myself or not......
This posting lark is fraught with danger.
Be gentle - honestly this is something I need "out there" but be nice.
Just re-read that. god I'm thick.
Current Mrs Webster alive well and cuddly - although asleep now.
I think you can guess the rest
