Promise Me - Beverley Craven

AAAGGGHHH! You've touched on first girlfriend territory there, Steve! We were only 10 and I've recently found out she's now pregnant. My childhood has finally ended...
Remember The Power of Love by Jennifer Rush? It was in the charts in 1985 - I'd just started Uni and was seeing a bloke hereafter known as Ratfink. To this day I cannot bear that song! Don't the memories just come flooding back? Yuck!
Sappho xxx (now dreaming to Enigma)

That was the unofficial song of the 1986 Royal wedding. Power Ballads rule! My favourite is Eyes Without A Face by Billy Idol.
Is 'Ratfink' a nod to Adrian Mole? I loved those books, I never understood how a middle aged woman could capture the misery of being 13 and three quarters so accurately though.
Sappho, who are the Clerkes of Oxenford? The version I have's by the Tallis Scholars, which sounds boringly official.
And props to you for Boney M, Misschief! My first single was Ma Baker, which I still maintain was pretty cool of me.

PM for you Blissed re: The Clerkes of Oxenford!
And while we're on the subject of cheesy tracks of our youth - what about Boney M's Rasputin? 'Russia's greatest love machine'!
Wilma, I'm amazed you overlooked 'Billy Don't Be A Hero' by Paper Lace! If I remember that was played on the Golden Shot!
Love Sappho xxx
PS: Have that damn song going round my head now - okay where's my Wishbone Ash CD?

Why confused: :?: :?: :?:
That was far too tasteful for her! Stonking track from my hero's of the time..... 8)
However - She does have "Two little Boys" - Rolf Harris... lol
*wanders off singing "Wahey we're the Monkees, people say we monkey around, but we're too busy SWINGING, to put anybody down.........." *
THAT HAS TO BE THE SIGNATURE TUNE FOR THE ALBUM!
Only You - Yazoo
*Sigh!*
There is some poor lass in Wallsend who broke her heart to that when the ship I was on left Wallsend Drydock having spent 3 weeks being persued by yours truly! I finally caught her and then dumped her when we left.....
I still can't listen to it without feeling guilty! redface surprisedops:
If you are on this site - I suppose a swing is out of the question? rolleyes
I guess that after starting this monster (which I see has sported another monster) I'd better add a few. These are by no means the best, the only or the ultimate for me - just the ones in my mind at the moment
The Wicker Man soundtrack - "Willows song"
Thanks for reminding me, Sappho
Vangelis - "Rachaels Song" (love theme from Bladerunner)
The only excuse for a sax in music except the Baker Street solo
Johnny Cash - "Hurt"
An entirety of lifes experience in under 4 minutes. Genius.
The Doors - "Riders on the storm"
Music to wake up to, or watch the sun set to - sublime.
Aerosmith - "Dream On"
One of many from before MTV strangled them....
Julian Cope - "Safesurfer"
Sex in musical form for the inner-eye....
Led Zeppelin - "Since I've been loving you" / "I can't quit you baby"
More emotion than an explosion in a hormone factory
...and for you power ballad fans,
Heart - "Alone"
Marillion - "Lavender"

Oh, and I've not a clue how all these will fit into a two-CD set. Boys and girls we have some serious self-editing to do !

Them's fightin' words! The Vibrolators "Eight Hours". Downright sleazy.
Look, will you lot STOP telling me about great tracks, half of them I can't find and it's really really annoying me!!!
lol
PS - Found Hurt by Man in Black and have to agree about it's fabbness!

*lost my teacher cloak there in an instant, luckily I don't teach English!*
Here's one for you Jags:
'hallelujah'-Jeff Buckley. Pop that on your MP3 and feel your soul massaged..

"Lover, You Should've Come Over" is another work of sublime genius by him too.

Would LOVE the Willow sound MP3 - maybe tomorrow?? You can send it via msn.

Hi could someone let me know where to find either Kaaza or Kaazalite? cant seem to find em on the net at all. Failing that, a similar sort of thing if anyone knows of one.

We are not perfect - only practically perfect.

We all forgot Suede's 'Animal Nitrate'. A tad weird, yes, but moooove those hips...
Thanks Jags - Fred has done nothing but play oldies since you posted that!!!
Gone all soppy on me, remembering his youth.

Strewth!! Fred's got a longer memory than I gave him credit for! Are his youthful memories in black and white or sepia? rotflmao
Why do I get the feeling I am going to regret that? rolleyes
Will I NEVER learn????? banghead :banghead: :banghead:
Will....
What you doing in here.....
There is nobody from your top 10 list in here....
Are you sure Jags is going to be number 1? WOW!
You are going to have to write down your memories now my friend - by the time the women have finished with you you are going to pray for amnesia.
*fred sits whistling away to "The Wall" - what an album!*
The song doing it for me at the moment is Katie Melua, Closest Thing to Crazy. It's fantastic!
lol
