Is 'Ratfink' a nod to Adrian Mole? I loved those books, I never understood how a middle aged woman could capture the misery of being 13 and three quarters so accurately though.

There is some poor lass in Wallsend who broke her heart to that when the ship I was on left Wallsend Drydock having spent 3 weeks being persued by yours truly! I finally caught her and then dumped her when we left.....
I still can't listen to it without feeling guilty!
