Id still like to hear some answers to the questions already put for instance, will people end up having to pay to view OUR pictures that we put up here??????
Some answers really might be helpful right now.
Oh and when will the logo change to the crazy fucking frog???????
Ever since I joined I wondered who paid for the site. I know a lot of voluntary work helped. I imagined that the site was run by a genius (Mark) who had it hidden it on a huge computer - like BT, say or ICI, or some such.
I can't help feeling that our ring-tone owners will not provide free membership forever.
Premium membership? Will it be long before "ordinary" membership is not woth having?
Sorry - I'm not keen on change. And I'm only a part-time member.
Mollie
Is'nt this a bit PREMATURE for APRIL 1st

Where is Mark's comments about all this?

Hi to the new owners. Elliot, Nick-w, st3v3 and Martin
Maybe they just need a little more time to answer the questions, ..
There may be a lot of stuff going on in the back room we don't know about...
But I'm sure if the new owners want their investment to work, they will be back soon enough to answer the questions.
Meanwhile did someone mention choccie??????????
I'm as surprised as anyone that this site has been sold, especially when all the only assets are a transient userbase, goodwill (mostly due to the free nature of the site) and a domain name.
My initial thought is that if Elliott's company bought the site expecting to turn a profit on it, then they are in for a surprise.
Traditionally, the site has only one ongoing cost, that of bandwidth and servers, and 3 revenue streams - the phone ads, the banners in the top right, and presumably some kickback from the shopping links on the left. If commercial web developers are going to be adding to the site, then they have to be paid somehow, and I simply can't see this community reaching into it's pockets to do that.
While the idea of enhancements like a video chatroom that existing members can use for free sounds initially appealing, how long will we use it for when new members come in saying they paid their money and want to see flesh?
To be honest, having a Premium membership of a pay site isn't that appealing to me, even if it is free, and that's reason I'm here and not on one of the countless pay sites that are out there.
I wait with interest to see what happens. The major thing that disappoints me so far is that Mark didn't say the site was up for sale and didn't give the community the chance to buy him out.
Elliot, Nick_W, St3v3 and Martin,
Hello ???????? Is someone gonna answer ?????????
Sam xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ps......... why post and go ???
Hmmm its never what new owner tells you have to be concerned about ..oh no its the hidden agenda that you really need to be concerned for but as we don't know if or what they are then only time will tell. Mind you I have seen Greeks bearing gifts before with another site I belonged to they made similar promises ... the result... the membership walked and the COMMERCIAL ventuer colapsed. Power to the people .. remember the new owner needs YOU!
The delay in replies will be because I was on the phone with Elliott, trying to resolve some of the issues. I'm sure he will be along soon to answer your questions. He has been warned he will have a busy weekend!

Hello Elliot and Welcome to the site!!!
What a shame the past owner didnt introduce you personally.
Lets not condem the guy and his company untill we know the full details, let face it no amount of shouting is going to undoe the present situation.
Sh is good, but it is not perfect. The idea of a private premium membership area quiet appeals to me. Hopefully this would lend itself to greater security (important for some of us who need to protect our identities) and like someone else said, more tolerance of non conformist views.
All change is not always bad, we have no option but to see what happens, lets hope it goes well and as I said earlier welcome to the site Elliot and Co !!!
Elliots reply goes someway to calming me down.
If the forum/ads/chat stays roughly the same and doesn't impinge on the community, lets wait and see what the "extra cost" proposals are and how it may affect those already on here.
For example, Pop up ads for ringtones and so on could be a pain, but can be coped with.
I'm concerned about the privacy issue... it is one thing putting your trust in fellow swingers but quite another when a commercial entity becomes involved. Do we have your word that you will not sell our email addresses to marketeers for instance?
