Well keeping all computers clean biggrin
There was a thread some while back about the disgusting state of the bottoms of some handbags - from putting them down on toilet floors etc.
I reckon keyboards can be almost as bad (less vomit hopefully though).
I teach IT and we have training rooms with 9 machines in and in the past they have never had their keyboards cleaned. They get replaced every 4 years or so. We may have up to 5 different people using a keyboard each week.
The sheer number of skin cells and grease, dandruff flakes, bogey-crumbs (yuk yuk yuk) and bacteria that could accumulate over 4 weeks let alone 4 years boggles the mind.
We are supposed to be getting them cleaned regularly now but I still hate touching any keyboard but my own. It may not be sterile, but at least the germs are mine :D
So the question is - when was the last time you cleaned your keyboard?
Do you use your sleeve and only when you can't read the keys?
Do you use a 'proper' duster?
Do you get going with the antibacterial wipes?
Do you get the fluff out from under your keys?
(And have you just looked at your keyboard - gone yuuuuuk and nipped out for the wipes?) :giggle: :giggle:
I buy spray air and do it properly every month or so with the air and cotton buds etc in between 3 or 4 times a day i use anti bacterial wipes and on the mouse to  they are horrid to keep clean though roll on the future when they are keyboards like they are just starting to implement in hospitals
Well i have to admit i do not clean my keyboard on either my laptop or computer..The last time i did it i was disguted with myself at the amount of crap that had built up in them...
And gave them a damn good scraping and polish ...
I gave them a good clean and then the keys worked better biggrin:D:D:D:D..
well i thinkl it is now time for there 6 monthly clean..
Well wish me luck im going in :D:D:D:D:D:D:D..
I might be some time.....
i clean mine often asim on a laptop, screen gets minging.
however at work one day, (new job) i was typing and jumped a fecking mile .... a spider crawled out of the keyboard ewwgghhh
xx fem xx
I keep mine extremly clean
Oh and mi computing bits n bobs too wink

Thats just reminded me of something wink
when I was using a Mac keyboard a while ago... I made an effort to clean it out...
good news!
there was enough tobacco in there for three roll-ups.
bonanza!
lp
In my last job using a pc my workmates were shocked when I got a paintbrush out of my bag... I was a temp and didn't use the same pc twice.. so always had wipes and the brush to get icky "bits" out of the keyboard.
It was strange that people used to fight to use the pc after me...
I use a laptop at home, though I have a desktop too, and maybe its my OCD coming out, but clean both every other day.. makes me feel better.

Sorry but that is quite disgusting. lol
I clean ours every week and there are only 4 of us using it. I use a solution that kills all known germs.
Using a keyboard that many others have used is about as bad as not washing your hands after using the loo...full of germs and all sorts. Yuk!!

Best way to clean the inside of your monitor screen is to use this great utility:
screen cleaner

Does anyone have any idea how to get rid of this? It's there every fecking time I open my laptop. It deletes text I've spent ages writing, and seems to have an F7 fetish.

Do you thik I can convince her it's not a real

I run the hoover over my keyboard every day. Only ever lost 1 key once and had a pretty dirty time finding it in the hoover bag. Once in 8 years isn't too bad though smile. It also gets wiped over with a damp cloth daily and every now and then I pop all the keys off and throw them in a bowl of bleach for a couple of hours. I take a photo of the keyboard first so I know where all the ';./, etc. keys go
