Having followed this thread with slight astonishment, I feel I have to interject with some suitable remark. Demi - If you feel abused in any way by crap responses to your request - then on behalf of all randy sad lonely men - I guess they just get a bit over excited by the prospects on offer and do not have a clue how to reply. Personally I would love to take you up, but also feel slightly inadequate in knowing quite what the right thing would be to say. I probably would also make some kind of jestful remark which would inadvertantly disguise my genuine intend.
As for the Sarge, well do you really think humour is appropriate on this ever-so-sensitive- serious forum for discussion!
And as for you Sapho- well try not to splutter any more coffee as certain members here might take this as a sign of your over-active and uncontrollable sex-drive!

I love hearing a man talk smut to me, but he must be really filthy and mean, no politeness and no dodgy accents, sorry brummies and scowsers you are out, but I love Scots or cockney ...from what I know of you, you are as different from Kit as chalk and cheese, and I am sure all users of the site can see this. Kit also has them queuing round the block. She does not have a mailbox bursting at the seams, and probably only about 10% of our e-mails are from tossers.

Resisted urge to say to much until now as I'm not really involved. Also, felt that Will's estimable diplomacy skills would win the day (big cheer for Will, if he carries on like this I'll be vying with Sappho for his attentions; he is indeed a 'lovely man'). However, this seems to be something that could niggle and fester unless killed. Hasn't enough been said ? Do the mods have their Forum keys to hand?

I visit the Forum, or more correctly 'The Cafe', for relaxation, a chance to feel part of a group of friends, but above all, for the humour and badinage.
Not all of the humour makes me laugh, but the vast majority does. Of course there is a subtext of sex, swinging etc, but it is the friendship and humour that makes this site so different and the only one I bother with. I have made the aquaintance of people whom I am honoured to class as friends and co-conspiritaors in creating a world of off-beat humour, shared love of art, music , books, and interest in debate of all kinds.
Escapist-yes. 'Wankers', 'Tosspots?' Well, I for one qualify on both counts but don't come here to be reminded.
As for Sarge, well, I may as well confess, I hold him in such esteem that I am having his baby-or at least working on it (got the swollen belly so far).
So, come on, let's get back to some serious insanity-not forgetting the
sexual sub-text of course. If not, then I for one will distribute my private e-mail address to the good friends I have made here and quietly bugger off, as I suspect others will too. I don't expect my passing would be missed, but many would miss the passing of this unique little oasis, should that ever happen.

In the interests of fair play, we can leave this open until this evening and allow Demi her say. If after that she either hasn't responded or that the thread looks likely to further degenerate, then it will be locked, whether they have made up or not.
Personally, I think it's a storm in a teacup (or a D-Cup!), but when I first corresponded on this site, I got on the wrong side of someone in a bad way. However, since then we have become very good friends - so there's hope yet!!

The art of the written word is hard at the best of times, even more so when put into a context of free form speach as in here.
A joke; quip; or off the cuff remark can be taken out of context way to easy. It can seem as tho a light hearted joust is a a full blown personal put down of someone...
I know I've been quilty of typing something that as I put them into the PC seem to be full of wit, charm, and lightheartedness; then when the whole thing blows up because someone took it the wrong way I can see why!
Nowadays I often use lots of LOL's, winks, and smiles in my phone texts and emails etc... What you dont get with the written word alone is the ability for people to see your face, often when speaking face to face the words that are spoken could (if written down) be offencice or taken wrongly, yet a glance at the face seeing the glint in the eyes and the smile of the lips shows that its ment in jest.
I used to use NNTP newsgroups long before real time chat, and "forums" which are just web based versions of NNTP, flames come and go, and people have rants all the time... Usually a good backpeddle works, but even if not its rare for people to fall out perminantly, especially in a close nit community such as this. Net time is soooo much quicker than real time, a days worth of corrispondance can be the same as weeks or months in the real world. In a couple of weeks this thread will be on a different page, and most people will have forgotten it and the main protaganists (is that a real word?) will probably be fine with each other and lightly sparing again.
