Yeah and sometimes stuff you plan goes tits up. :cry: And then the things that take you completely by surprise can be oh so exciting... :rascal:
We won't ever do "spontaneous" stuff I don't think... Mrs R too fraidy cat for that... Maybe if it was with someone we knew and trusted we could do a last minute thing if the stars aligned correctly and things fell into place but at the moment it seems a long way off.
That said, there's lots to be said for planning. I think it helps foster the excitement of it all. I don't get excited by birthdays or Xmas nowadays, so it is nice to have something to look forward to.
I like anticipation. The older I get , the more important it seems to be to plan things that I can look forward to.
