Hope they bugger off soon....wink

don't know how many of you guys use msn chat but i use it alot to chat to various people (the list is quite long). so far i have not had any problems. however, there is one person who i think i am going to have to block. i've asked them not to contact me any more but nearly everytime i show as online and they are too they message me.
if you block someone do they get mail to tell them this? i know you get mail to accept being put on to someones list. i've tried ignoring them, it's not working rolleyes
whips

Don`t think you get mail but I`ve received an email from more than one of my msn contacts for a download that tells you who has blocked you on msn !!
No idea if it works cos it looked dodgy to me so I`ve ignored it ...
But to be honest I`d just block em and forget about it.
It dont work lol
Hiya guys
Just sent a pm to someone about the "see who's blocked you" thingy but have seen that people are talking about it.
The application is a key-logger and a couple of our friends on here have opened it and had their msn hijacked so take care x
As Dean said  and use its so much better smile :)
Afraid I hate MSN with a vengeance, therefore don't use it! You can still chat to MSN buddies on as well just cant see photos etc....
I use MSN but basically I have the "appear offline" box ticked pretty much all the time. That way I can choose who to speak to. Works for me!
I appear offline and only talk to people I want to now.. had some really iffy people on msn...
You can block people and you will appear offline to them permenantly
Hope this helps!
I have a separate folder on msn with blocked contacts and it's quite extensive! Sometimes, you talk to someone in a chat room and they seem ok so you add them to your msn contacts but after a few minutes 1 2 1 you find they're a pushy pain in the ass. They go on block or are blocked AND deleted.
Most of my contacts in my chat folder are blocked - not because I don't like them but just so I can keep control over who I chat to. They're easily unblocked for a natter. I know you can appear offline but can't send files or pics in that mode and would have to come out of hiding to do that. And the minute you do that, everyone can see you're online ... trying to juggle half a dozen flashing orange boxes all at once isn't easy.
The block facility isn't just a nasty thing - it can help you keep control and make chatting enjoyable instead of stressful smile
I blocked someone by mistake and since then have not found how to system works by the looks of it but has its downside, pity really she was a very nice
kacee
if you left click on their name then down the bottom it will say unblock click that and that should do it.
if u block someone they will not know u have done
but if u go on this

you can find out who has blocked and deleted you from their msn
dont worry it is safe
if u click on their name right click it will tell u there block unblock click it and it is unblocked
try it
if u have blocked and deleted their name will be in ur options as blocked or deleted list

Ok just had a look at the hasdoneit site and it screams unsafe.
But to make sure I wasn't over reacting I did a simple search on hasdoneit and found that McAfee amongst others warns against using it

So it is probabley best to avoid
if like me you have a load of names on your list but some you have not seen online in ages so you dont know if they have blocked or deleted you i have just been informed that msn have their own way of telling you if they have delited you ..... here is how to do it
at the top of the page with everyone on it is a tool bar with 'file contacts actions tools help' click on the tools then on options... then click on the privacy tab ... this tells you who you have blocked etc .... right click on their name and if the option 'delete' is in bold and clickable then they have deleted you
its a safe way make sure they have deleted you than using an outside site

Seconded...
You're giving them your email address/login id and your password to that email address.
Its possible to find out who has deleted you (tools>options>privacy, right click a name, if "delete" is avalable then you're not in their list any more) but its not actually possible to see who has blocked you using msn protocols.
The only way to see who has blocked you is by getting them to "view your profile" then when msn/messenger gets a profile request and they show as off line you know you are blocked... well you did till msn/messenger allowed "off line" users to pm others.
I'm still on msn 7 (win 2000) so when off line users pm me i can only reply within 5 mins... else i get a "cannont deliver message"
Hasdoneit.. et. al.
Are the same type of scams as used by the mayspace (etc) "see whos viewed your profile" web sites... it asks for your id and password, you give them... they have all they need to get into your account and fuck your on, and off, line life!
