No, I haven't got the albums because from what I've heard on the radio and telly...

Alright, then....
The Weatherman say's it's a blizzard going on yet it's actually 32 Degrees in July outside... so you trust the media...
Erm... then 3 Albums where all acclaimed by the leading Music Magazines ohhh & Television.
So my question is did you agree with them or not.
Do you really have that much trust in the media... confused
The only way the media is involved in this, is that is where I heard the 'songs' that Jay-Z sings, and I think they sound rubbish. My opinion, I don't give a monkey's who else likes them or how much acclaim they've had. What has the weather, or trusting the media, got to do with that then?

Jay_Z dunno
I'll go listen to my gramaphone a while
Dave_Notts

Pull up a rocking chair Dave - I've got Daniel O Donnell's greatest hits on repeat! lol
Is he another one of them new fangled "artists".
I am going back to my Bach

Well I've liked this little thread.
I'll return to it after his performance, then let's see.
Thank you all & a good night. Got work very early in the morning.
From,
Wunderhorse.

That's worrying.
Jamie Oliver has just been declared the most influential chef or something dunno
I've never met him, eaten his food or taken much notice of the media's output on him
I still think he's an annoying mockney pillock though, same as i don't need to plough through Jay-Z's album and disect his lyrics to come to the conclusion i find is work dull, uninspiring and on the whole musically lazy, like most modern Rap/Hip Hop.
Maybe i was just spoilt as a kid by listening to the pioneers of it all, Run DMC, SugarHill Gang, GM Flash etc.
wink

Erm....Kylie Minogue, Tony Bennet, you could even say Radiohead.
Seen Radiohead on Jools Holland, a couple of weeks ago & they where rubbish. Couldn't understand what Thom Yorke was saying yet every act was going on how great they sound... confused
Artic Monkeys, Basement Jaxx.
It's been commercialised for years. The Verve -
'let's all go down memory lane when we where young OR young & in University'.
Wake up. Since the Internet everything is commercialised more so Music. The amount of next big things coming out of the Indie / Rock genre in the U.K is amazing only last year Block Party where like The Beatles.
At least Jay - Z can hold his own against younger types.

Erm, I don't know anymore! You've confused me! dunno
That's worrying.
Quite aside from that, FB has told you that she's heard his music via the media, and has decided, all by herself, that she doesn't like him. Now, where's the issue?

No, I listend to them before making a jugdement.
Also a friend has their new album that I listend to as well.
So I make my OWN mind up in full.
Radiohead are living off past glory will never better
Kid - A Album.
Was aware of the media praise but used my own skills to make the decision. Am aware that this is my own view but you could listen to one of his albums.
Go on go to Woolworths & buy one. A bit of danger might do you some good.
Then give me your review.
Also if you don't like it then you exchange it for:
The Best of Meatloaf on C.D

As I did. I just didn't have to listen to any more than I heard on the telly or radio to do that. Not wasting my money lining his pockets, to listen to what, in my opinion, is crap.

Commercialised...this Celebrity Couple even sang together on stage at your 'glasto'.
She's a Model NOT an american bling bling, as you call it confused:

Commercialised been going on for much longer than just Jay - Z, Phuckers old boy.
wunderhorse you should be in bed by now, dont blame pete if you are late for work in the morning...well he should be out of prison by glasto time yipee
On a positive note regarding the disciples of Hip-Hop in my town...
I find them to be very giving people... always willing to leave their windows down whilst driving through the town centre (even when it's sub-zero outside) so everybody can enjoy their fare!
As for Wunderhorse saying "Hip - Hop is like Punk Music in fact they are linked by Rick Rubin. Both styles just piss people off & that's what so great about both styles of music."
...it seems a liitle immature think that music is great because it pisses people off, there are many reasons why music could be called great but... seriously?, 'cos it pisses people off?... and I'm not sure what the point of naming Rick Rubin was?... sure he played in Hose (later Def Jam) but what does that show... other than he had a change of musical direction?
Bottom line is:
You like Jay-Z, Hip-Hop, etc... as the lady on TittyTittyBangBang would say "Good.. For.. You!"
Some people have different tastes... accept it... ya certainly can't change it.
Hope you have a great time at Glastonbury...
Peace
Aq

I apologise profusely but... they're both fookin' crap!

The point is, Radiohead have a past, along with all the other great rockers who have been popular over the last 40 years or so.
Where will your Jay Z be in say, 2 years time??
No competition really neutral

Noel Gallagher- Made a careeer out of Imitating Beatles songs
Jay-Z- Made a career out of nicking other peoples tunes and sticking a lame arsed rap over the top
I wish they'd both fuck off and let someone more original headline there rolleyes

What he said! ^^^^^

I've never met him, eaten his food or taken much notice of the media's output on him

I had dinner with him, very nice guy. So you can't believe what's portrayed in the media.
I still can't see what all the fuss is about. Glasto is a four day festival with umpteen stages, Jay-Z is on for, what, an hour or two? And there's nothing else to do or see while he's playing if you don't like him? Hardly.
Not everyone is going to have the same taste in music, I can't stand hip-hop, bores the pants off me.
The fact that there are so many new, smaller festivals, which are cheaper and later in the year when the schools are off and the weather might be better may have something to do with the lack of ticket sales, that and the long winded registration process that Glasto has.
Noel just wanted to get in the papers, or he was bored with people asking him the same question. He's not exactly today's news himself is he?
H.x
Well at the end of the day there are many other bands on .....although personally I wouldnt watch jay-z lots would.....thats the thing about festivals tho......variety.....cant blame mr eavis for bringing in popular artists.....am sure thats not the only reason tickets were left.....So stop moaning and just go and watch the other bands.....I am not goin but will watchin on the beeb as always.....plenty of good bands on.....(roll on vfest am goin to that with the lovely danne.....Muse live again yaaaaay awesome.....no one better)
interesting comments..but have any of you ever been to glastonbury, would you go again , irrespective as to who was on? personally i couldnt give a toss who plays there, i aint going anyway
now slade... they were a good band...
cum on feel the noise gurlz grab the boyz....lalalala
