Welcome, and welcome to the other newbies as well - I am one as well. January must be a record month for newbies. Does this happen every year - is it like gym memberships going up just after Christmas or is this year special?
From what I gather you will find Bi-Fems very popular in the scene. I know a couple in the next village down here in the West Country and they are very nice indeed. Where are you based?

WOW! What a response, wasn't expecting a thread hijack on my first post though.....I can see there is much work to be done, I am starting to feel at home and can see some fun challenges ahead. 
Thank you to all who greeted me, I am off to investigate the SHWI and the GFZ and after all that hard work I think I join Wilma on the couch with a coffee, what a lovely invitation!
