Having seen norfolkbigirl's thread about her bad experience with a meet, i wanted to ask the regular forumers this: What in your opinion is the preferred way to meet someone off the Swinging Heaven site?
1: through the forums
2: through the photo ads system
3: a combination of the forum and the photo ads system
Personally, i had an ad on the photos section when i joined in august, but deleted it about six weeks ago, thinking i'd rather get to know people thru the forums than have blind meets.
I find a mixture of both - to be honest
Here, I think you sometimes see peoples more articulate side. You have the luxury to be able to sit and take time to think about what you are going to write. You do also see a lot funny stuff - peoples humour is very developed here
In the chat room - you have to think on your feet a lot more - the room sometimes goes a million miles an hour, and it's hard to keep up. You do, however see a more spontaneous and quick witted side to a person.
ads - to be honest - i find i read them more for enjoyment, and amusement these days. There are some shocking attitudes out there, some real no brainer ads, and some that are just incredibly well written and original. I'm afraid i've developed a pretty finely tuned BS indicator about ads these days - i tend to think if a thing looks or sounds to good to be true - then nine times out of ten it probably is too good to be true
I'm more of a chatroom person myself - being as that is where i come from, and where i started my days swinging. I no longer rely on my ad anymore, in fact i couldn't even tell you the number anymore! You tend to get past the whole thing about willy/ boobs/ appearance and therefore i think it becomes slightly less of an issue.
Anyway - you my thoughts - and what do i know eh?
We use both, had a few meets through the adds and got our eyes on a few people on the forum we wouldn't mind meeting more personally :twisted:

Forum is definately a better place to get to know someone I think.
Ads have had mixed success - sometime can be a bit callous.
it has to be the forums really for me....i do have an ad, but cannot be bothered to update it half the time.
of course you may have got different response had the question been asked in the chat room or via an advert lol
still we prefer the forum , we dobnt go anywhere else

I think that by using the forum though, i can get more of an idea about a persons character, personality, sense of humour, opinions on a variety of subjects etc by searching their previous replies to posts. This can't be done thru an ad, and don't think it can be done thru the 100mph chatroom?

I really like the whole learning about personalities thing through the posts, as against the ads which seem a lot of the time to be by people that dont post at all in the forum, and just seems cold and even a touch risky (don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are loads of nice folk on the ads too!)
I think also, its good that people also get to know me through the forum and are able take a view on my personality etc - it works as a great two-way thing.
Forum.............easily the way to go, although have spoken to some nice people in the chatroom, i think the forum is the main place to be, especially the Cafe!

Forums now seem so incestuous, everyone you talk to on here has "done " someone else you you know, its too insular.
The phot ads are great because it is like going shopping and the shelves are laden with goodies, big problem is choosing one!! Admitedly a proportion of the goods are faulty, but most of them are what they say they are and I have had some bargains from the store

) but because there's always the chance of that spark in someone's eye who you didn't think would be interested from their forum posts. Text is a rich medium, but it can't compete with seeing someone's face while you chat.
