Paintball hurts a lot when you get shot, but we talking stinging, its nasty, but if everyone plays fair the bruises while looking bad fade fast. You can also wear gloves (a few of us got cut by incoming fire off the knuckles), and Sarcy Sue (love that name) had a full body armour flak jacket thing. It worked pretty well.
After you been shot a few times you ignore it, the pain fades off pretty fast (though my hand still giving me hassle). As long as your site is fairly professional, you keep your mask on and play safe it not a bad sport. Seen much worse injuries at football matches than paintball
Well a dormant LARP player (though time permitting I'll be coming out of retirement in October to play a George Romero-style zombie for a mate of mine, I can shamble with the best of 'em).
I reckon you're probably right about the injuries, thinking back most of the worst ones I've seen were on one bloke who's 'mates' had ganged up on him and taken great delight in peppering him from close range. (Yes, he probably did deserve it.) I certainly wouldn't go to the trouble of getting body armour, a ghillie suit is much more my idea of good protection. (If you can't see me, you're going to have a lot of trouble hitting me.)

Well, it might be a bit too late for that thanks to SmokerJim (he of the flowery prose when shot
) but here I am, standing up, or rather laying down against Venus, a big grin on my face (three guesses why).I would have stood up earlier but I was back at the campsite with Venus, Mars, NomadSoul, Farkuen and Gummy, whiling away the time laying on the grass and idly chatting.
And let me refute TnH's first post. His newly found reputation for bottom sniping is amply deserved (better get extra padding down there next time as he will want to make me pay for revealing the truth to the world by exercising his new hobby on my*).
*was gonna write "on me" but turned out that way and did a nice freudian slip so that way it stays.

Well, when I hear someone say "get out of there there is a grenade" (or similar) and then see the grenade (whose label says 6 seconds or so until explosion) I don't wait around to get blown to smithereen like a certain deaf person who didn't hear the warning (I didn't know smoking so much could do that to you, might be another cause though ;)).
Luckily for him the grenade was 2 inches short of being past the wall against which he leant so that it exploded against it and all the paint coming in his direction was blocked by the wall. Talk about a lucky bugger... when his corpse is not being repeatedly shot by sadistic enemies that is

I'm aching in places I didn't know existed. Twisted my knee, good job it went down over night at the campsite or I wouldn't have been able to drive home!! One game it looked like I had a through and through on my right shoulder, paint on the front and back, got the bruises to prove it!!!!

Finally managed to get chance to sit here and thank the people involved in making this event a truly memorable one.
Thanks to Venus for coming up with a gem of an idea, to Easy for taking over the running and finalisation that brought it all together, and to my Brothers and Sisters-In-Arms for making such a gallant stand against the bigger army
There were no prisoners taken THAT day :lol:
It was just like being a seven year old again playing soldiers in the woods and scrambling along the ground. Brilliant stuff. Well worth the bruises, the scrapes, the aches and the pain :lol: :lol:

You should see the Sarcy Sue bum Still my hand throbbing like hell... think it getting infected, despite my best effort to clean and protect it on the day 
Will have to sort the wound pics out sometime soon and get them up for peeps, but after a day or so to settle in I bet they are even nastier now

i went paintballing for the first time saturday, there were 20 of us and it was mint, one of the best experiences ive had and i didnt really want to go....glad i did tho and we kicked there ass 8 games to 2 yay..... keep hearing the words in my sleep.....Dave dont be a hero....ha ha, anyone who aint been...you gotta go, sarge order em to do it .
