Paintball Thanks and what you missed thread... With Photos!

Well we are back, slightly bruised, but alive from the first SH paintball day. Many thanks to Easy for taking over the running, and Venus for starting the ball rolling, and keeping an eye on it. Photos and a war wounds contest coming up when I get a chance to download from the phone.
As I seem to be the first though must set the record streight, I was always aiming above the belt, and the number of bum shots was purely accidental redface

I'm sorry that Kitty and I had to miss it.
As it turned out she's working this weekend. I'm glad that a good time was had by those who did go. Let us know who made it.
I'm just a teeny bit gutted that I never got the opportunity to shoot venus in her arse though! lol

Here is a collage pic for those who went of the photos I took. I know I checked everyone was happy at the event to put them up, but if anyone changes their mind PM me.

As for location, it was down south ;) Can't be more accurate than that, but next one may well be more in the middle. Lots to think on, some good ideas were had in the pub afterwards smile

One observer that wasn't able to observe very much apart from the damage at the end!

Talking of which - when is it?!!!! And smoking muff will be coming out with all guns blazing!
BTW, best bit ( for me )was when I was in the bunker with Srilumpa looking for any movement in the trees, then he shot out like a scalded cat. I moved to the back edge of the bunker, vaguely heard a shout about something or other - then a loud crack as a paint grenade went off behind me, looked round, saw paint dripping off the planks of the bunker wall, then heard Faruken say ( a bit disbelievingly ) "You're not hit!", then swung the barrel of my gun to the loophole and fired a load of shots as I shouted "C'MON YOU FUCKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHSSSS!!!!!!!" Perfectly sane me!

Afraid my names to faces is pretty poor, even I not sure on the tall one in the middle... I am sure after 2 pints he was having trouble focusing on anything...

I can tell you where he wasn't - out in the boonies with us, getting his ass shot off ( probably too busy practising his dance moves for the next munch when Missy's song comes on! )

Ok, Dawn, just to help I'll tell you who's who in the central group shot ( from L to R )
Srilumpa, Venus, Mars, TnH, Nomad Soul ( in front ), Faruken, Gummy - the absentees are Sarky Sue ( Mrs TnH - sorry ) and me and smoking muff ( cos I wimped out on staying in the pub - no poppy and journey home lol

)

Sounds like you all had a good time, it's even enough to get me to consider paintball - I've always wussed out in the past as I've seen far too many nasty bruises on other people, though considering some of the injuries I've picked up doing Live Action Roleplaying in the past I'm not sure why I'm worried.

It is definatelty one of those things you MUST do at least once in your life.

Fair enough, I must admit everyone I've ever known who's gone paintballing has had a good time, and getting hit with a paintball can't be as bad as being shot in the knackers with a LRP bow and arrow (I was monstering and playing a supposedly unkillable troll at the time, but couldn't stop myself folding in two with a whispered cry of 'Ha, missed both my legs' :cry smile

Paintball hurts a lot when you get shot, but we talking stinging, its nasty, but if everyone plays fair the bruises while looking bad fade fast. You can also wear gloves (a few of us got cut by incoming fire off the knuckles), and Sarcy Sue (love that name) had a full body armour flak jacket thing. It worked pretty well.
After you been shot a few times you ignore it, the pain fades off pretty fast (though my hand still giving me hassle). As long as your site is fairly professional, you keep your mask on and play safe it not a bad sport. Seen much worse injuries at football matches than paintball :)

We also got the anti fog and my neck protector from them. They were very good and quick delivery, otherwise do a google on Chest Protector smile

Our masks were brought on ebay and were JT Spectra (2004 edition) with the Thermal Lenses, worth every penny cool
