a pampering day at a local health club
A personal shopping trip - I think do them. Mind you, they have lots of great (but sometimes expensive) ideas.

Great idea Sarah or possibly tickets for something or other for in the new year, perhaps you could go with her and spoil the socks off her.

sorry should have pointed out i'm broke! just bought my first house and can only spare about 50 quid (not sure where im gonna find that) thats why i cant ask her what she wants because she will just say something like "dont spend your money on me" or "oh dont be silly " or "just get me a bottle of that lavender water for from boots" you know, the typical mother type! (god bless em)
In that case gotta go with bonnienclyde..... tickets for the theatre is always a good bet for my oldies.

Pay a cleaner to come clean her home, so she can put her feet up for the day.

Tickets to a show are a good idea - not Chubbs either smackbottom
Doesn't have to be anything too flashy or even soon. Two tickets to Val Doonican for her and one of her bingo mates. Give her summat to look forward to?

:high-smile: How about a helium balloon???? :high-smile:
I've sent a few just lately for various birthdays including my gran who was 90....
They are much cheaper than flowers, come in a huge box with free chocs and float up out of the box the minute the lids taken off biggrin
I know i'm a big kid!!!!
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
Seriously though - they really are fun to get especially when you don't have too much to spend and the person receiving doesn't really want or need anything specifically...

I would suggest what I am buying for my mother in law -
An appointment with her solicitor to make her Living Will

Fantastic ideas here if anyone is stuck to buy for someone 'who has everything they need' ..... you buy a gift and it gets donated to people who need things more than we do.

I'm getting my parents a goat next year, or maybe a hive of bees :smile2:
Warming the Bed
you could always buy her a mobile phone or a pesonal attack alarm .somthing that might help her in a time of need rolleyes
So don't spend any money..she probably thinks you cant afford it even if you can, or worse thinks she is not worth it. Just give of yourself for a day. Go and see her..take her for a drive, or a walk, talk to her..make her FEEL really special...spoil her with the thing she treasures most ..her son....
I am so glad I did that for my mum before she passed away..was so nice for both of us.

well if its only 50 quid
get her a rampant rabbit im sure she will have fun with it
just make sure you put some specific instructions in the box you never know what she might try to do with it
lol

I agree with tall n hairy, just give her some of your time , maybee go round with a good video that you know she will like, cook her a meal and chill out together.
What about a bed coat to keep her warm whilst she is in bed, I know my nanna appreciates her.

Errr well speaking personally, I'd do anything to avoid an experience like that sad (not my cup of tea)
