Mmmmm Beer!
Hi Harry, was that Tim and Lee from Green Jack? I missed the Yarmouth festival again buggrit.
My local pub brews its beers in its back yard and has won the Champion Beer of Britain with one of them. Last night they had a plum flavoured beer of theirs on offer. Last year they brewed a 13.5% beer. It was like drinking an Oloroso have over 20 awards on their walls for prizes at festivals all over the country.

i used to like a pink (or 2) of "the old speckled hen" not sure if you can get it though

Good choice. I haven't seen it in many pubs these days but you can get it in cans at your local supermarket. Not as nice but drinkable.
:P

Whenever I see buttcombe on tap I have to have it. Apart from being a damn fine beer it brings a smile to the bartender's face.
"Can I have a pint of your best Buttcombe please?" works every time.
Adams is also very good but lacks the comedy value, Fox's Knob has the comedy but isn't such a nice pint.
Ahhhh, beers I have known and loved.
H.x

mmmmmmmmmmmmm I lurve buttcombe  my 'sunday' pub have it from the keg, delish, am trying very hard to persuade my local to get some in but no dice so far

I got on the wrong train at Shrewsbury and ended up in bloody welshpool. By time I waited for next train to Brum, I lost over 2 horus drinking so got about 1 hour 20 mins in the most wonderful pub on my own before rushing off for train home.
No worries about not making it, I have to revisit that pub :D
