remember what they did for us whether they came home or not is very improtant....... we owe so much to them all
Thank you Sarah.
I hope everyone is wearing their poppy with pride, I make sure my children wear them too, it shouldn't be just the over 50's remembering...

I'm not over 50 and I remember with pride. My daughter is 16 and she's just been over to France and helped put a wreath on the actual gravesite. I remember my Nanna & Grandad standing on parade every year when they went to a memorial, with their medals on and tears in their eyes as they remembered what had happened, friends they'd lost.
I think of them every day because I miss them, but I'll be thinking of them even more so on Sunday because of what they and others did all those years ago.
Im remembering..Im attending a Parade on sunday with my children.....without them fighting and dying for us and our country...majority of us would not be here today ....so we must remember them!
its nothing to do with how old you are or if you remember the 'great' wars as they need our support and thoughts today as well
In Flanders field the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
always wearing a poppy with pride and shame on those that dont!!..we owe them so much n we should always remember those brave young men that gave everything to ensure our freedom.
I was chatting with a 30 something dutch couple last weekend, they were asking about the battle of britain. At the end of our chat they said 'its important we understand what happened because we (the dutch) owe so much to Britain.
For the men and women who have fought and are fighting. On behalf of myself. Thank you for my children and the fact they are here now as they are.
Sunday will bring a very important very quiet two minutes in our house.
My eldest son won a commendation and certificate at school for his effort in Remembrance Week, he wrote a poem, made a beautiful poppy and enthusiastically joined in with the remembrance activities they've been doing all week. He'll also be marching with his cubs tomorrow.
He knows his Grandfather will be enormously proud of him as he is remembering and honouring all my father's lost colleagues from over half a century ago.
