that's the old kit sassy.
they only use 1 plaster these days...!
I had mine done 10 years ago and at the time it was painful for about 4 days. After about 5 years I had a reaction which was caused by the little swimmers backing up in my testicles and having nowhere to go and causing a swelling and a slight infection, and had to have a scan to confirm it was nothing serious.
The big advantage is of course not having to worry about causing pregnancy but a question for sassy seren:

Does God still kill the kittens if there are no little swimmers in the tissue ??

I agree with the practicalities of 'doing the decent thing'. But I have met a few women who actually enjoy seeing me shoot my load. So we'd miss that.

No you wouldn't! I can still shoot plenty, and no lady has ever guessed from that that I've been snipped.
Also if I lost my children for whatever reason, I'd still be able to have more children.

If that's a concern, you could always freeze some sperm.
Sounds like you should ask for your money back if you're still ejaculating sperm.

hi all ,so what do ya think about vasectomies?good or bad ?

I had it done about five, six years ago. Never felt any problem, once the initial (mild) discomfort went away. The actual operation was a bit weird - local anaesthetic meant I was aware of some tugging and pulling 'down there' but there was no pain.
A friend of mine had to have it done three times !!! because the tubes grew back, but A) that's extremely rare, B) my surgeon said 'the way I do it, they can't ever grow back, ever, so don't think of it as a temporary solution'.
I was happy with that.

Why?

Why is not a bad question, I think. It is a big decision.
In my(our) case - we have two kids, I love them but i know I'll never want more (even in the unlikely event of re-marrying, etc etc). So once I knew that for sure, it was the question of Sweet getting fed up of taking the Pill for years and years.
So, I kind of did it for her, really, but also for msyelf - I liked knowing that it can never, under any circumstances, happpen 'by mistake'. With anyone.

The percentage of sperm in seminal fluid is less than 5% so it would take a keen-eyed lady to spot the difference. A vasectomy should make very little difference to the loving spoonful, not to mention 10cc. lol

Both funky stuff!

Got in there before me ... no change at all in the volume of my ejaculate. Its governed by the length of time since the last one and the several hours foreplay biggrin ... its not an uncommon perception though as I had a similar convo with a friend after I had the op.
I had it done 3 years or so ago at the same time as another op so went under for it - rather than have a local. In hospital overnight and then went on the razz the night I came out till about 3am .... hhhhmmmm wonder why I ended up with infection in both op sites confused
no regrets at all ... go ferret

I'm interested in 'the tubes grew back' case ... how did he know? Did he keep going for fertility tests? Are there blokes like me wandering about thinking they were snipped good and proper when in fact they were not ... and are now a walking hazard to nice girls and to themselves?

The first time he found out the scary, messy, way, yes, but the second - I don't know. Good point. Must ask him.
Apparently, the difference is between 'just making a cut' and taking a whole chunk of the tubes out, so the remaining ends simply can't 'meet' and grow together. The latter is what my surgeoin did.
we have a great story on this subject lol
My hubby had the snip just after the birth of our second child, super smashing great all went well swollen bollox for a bit but nothing to bad untill 6 years laer i found out i was pregnant  we not go down the story line of everyone pointing a finger and accusing me of playing away i'll keep it simple lol anyway on testing him again they told us he had a normal sperm count and couldnt believe it took so long for me to get pregnant again and booked him in for another lol finger crossed its worked this time cause i aint pregnant again lol
Just to add my litle snippet, I had it done around 15 years ago and it was uncomfortable for about a week then mildy so for another week. I only had the one day off work for the op but I recommend you stock up on your favourite analgesic!
After two weeks abstinence due to the discomfort my libido went through the roof and still doesn't show much sign of fading (it's a hard life) The worst thing was waiting weeks for the 'all clear'.:high-smile:
Compared to the alternatives, especially the ladies chomping cardiac unfriendly pharmaceuticals for decades, I think that on the whole it was damn good move and the ladies can be most appreciative of your sacrifice! passionkiss
Get it done, have bags of fun!

sorry, it's probably coz I'm old, but there is just NO WAY anyone is coming near my grollocks with anything sharper than a finger nail.
just the thought makes my hair and toes curl :scared:
:giggle:
I cant help wondering how you men would cope if you had to go through half of the things us girls have to endure. Im told after the little prick all thats felt is a little tugging and pulling. Come to think about it I went through a similar experience when I got divorced
To snip or not to snip? That is the question!
Your own circumstances will dictate whether this is a route you wish to take.
My own experience:
I took the decision, in my mid thirties, on totally selfish grounds - two children being enough for me (and the two very messy divorces!). I really wanted to start with a completely clean sheet so had the snip when I was entering another serious relationship - and to take away the pressure of trying for 'our baby' to validate the relationship (in hindsight, definitely the right choice - as the relationship is long over ).
As to the procedure, itself - simple local anaestheic, performed by my own GP at his surgery (I distinctly remember us chatting about the cricket test series while he was performing the procedure) and I insisted on crooking my neck up so I could see what was being done.
What you are left with is balls which ache (and are slightly swollen) for a couple of days, a small scar (some versions of the procedure call for two incisions). No particular difference in respect of consistency or volume of ejaculate. The only change which I noticed is that it seemed that 'staying power' was increased - i.e. it took longer to cum. I've discussed this with a few friends who've had the op and this doesn't seem to be universal - with some having the same experience and some not.
Had this done 18 months ago and my bollocks have just about got back to the original size! lol
Seriously, nothing squeamish at all, a few minutes on the table, bollocks that wont fit in a wheelbarrow for a couple of days and then back to normal. Only real good part is the consultant made it abundantly clear that my wife (as was) needed to ensure that I ejaculated frequently to "clear the pipes" (much to her dismay!
dont believe anyone when they say it doesn't hurt. The doctor who did mine caught his fingers in between the bricks and he swore like hell biggrin
Nothing like a good Vasectomy to clear the pipes! lol

I've twice heard people say that a vasectomy can re-connect, or the sperm somehow get through, and lead to a pregnancy, though I've never encountered a case of this actually happening.
I seem to remember that after the snip I went back some time later and had my stuff tested for potency, and then again a second time before I got the all clear.
Years ago I used to look at the little buggers swimming, but I don't any longer have access to a high-powered microscope! Do people ever go back for re-testing, I wonder?

Well, I've answered my own question. Rang the clinic where I was snipped some 20 odd years ago, and they said they would be happy to re-test my stuff ... for a small fee ( ). I am expecting a bottle in the post! smile
