Hello
Try downloading this software and run a scan.

That normally clears up most things if it doesn't then give me a PM and I can help you further.

Sounds like you dont have your firewall on, but could be wrong.

Firewalls just keep out hackers, and the built in windows one is sufficient for most, third party firewalls are sold on the back of ingnorance and scare mongerring.
MSN Virus Removal

To be pedantic and to get things right, firewalls keep out crackers. Hackers are nice folks who write code. In any case Windows Firewall may keep out the average script kiddy, but that's all. The NAT facility on your router is far more effective.
Anyway, the first thing a decent malware app does is open a port on the firewall if it sees it running.
Or just bin Windows and install Linux

Pedants are us, crackers also write code, to "hack" software. It's all semantics, and if you feel you have anything a hacker would risk the jail for on your PC, then fair do's 007.
Ah, but hackers don't crack firewalls. They write nice things like Linux and GPL stuff that aficionados can use for free biggrin
And yes I agree, there has to be a reason why someone would want to get into your computer. A combination of Windows and Worms have made the need to crack firewalls superfluous anyway.

A hacker is simply a programmer who does not follow a formal methodology to develop software, thus the size of the resulting system is usually small.
A cracker is a 15 year old with a HOW-TO website and some trojan-supporting tool that finds it exciting to look for porn in other people's hard drives.
Sad really

Any chance of a BJ Cherry??
Did you understand that?? lol
Firewalls are there to be a barrier to stop things coming in AND going out again. They can't stop you from infecting yourself with trojans that you install yourself (clicking on those adverts or even through a drive by download site) BUT firewalls can stop the trojans from talking back to their hosts.
Once you are infected, one of the first things the infections do is try and make your system more vunerable and to call back home stating you are infected. This allows even more nasties to come back down through the new security holes and hey presto, you're now supporting the RBN (Russian Business Network).
If everybody had a good firewall, there would be very little spam in the world (Sent by BOTS) and very few reasons to attack other PC's (Yes MACs are unsecure too) to spread the viruses around.
Unfortunately the better firewalls (hardware ones that you need to update) do come at a price. Every business that has internet access, a server should really have one.
