what do you do with ex wedding rings?

has split with her husband several months ago and her new fantastic wonderful boyfriend cool

has been lving with her since, while they lay in bed tonight she wondered what she should do with her old wedding ring, the divorce comes through soon by the way......
any suggestions,,,,,,,,,,

well you know for a minute there I thought you were talking about yourself Wild Rose, but then when you said fantastic wonderful new boyfriend I realised that couldn't be Staggy. But I say "tell your friend" to flog it and go away for a long weekend with the money.

Wild rose its strange u asking this im thinking the same about my ex engagement rings( i have 2 from the same bloke) and i was thinking to myself what do u do???
And i like the idea of selling them but then i dont know or should i just keep them and shove them somewhere and forget about them....... confused

I don't have an ex but I do have two wedding rings confused

My original one I stopped wearing. I went through a stage where I was sick of being called Mrs Ian all the time and hated the fact I was a 'wife'. I don't have a clue why or what made me feel like that but taking my wedding ring off made me feel more independent dunno

When I decided to start wearing my wedding ring again, it had shrunk redface

We both ended up getting knew rings so we now have a matching set of old ones lol

I don't feel the need to do anything with them as yet but when I do it would be either sell them or melt them down into something else biggrin

I have put them in my kids memory box for them when they are older.
Had an engagement ring from a previous boyfriend many many years ago when I was young and stupid]Go on say it, you still are lol

which I flogged and put the cash in the nearest charity box

Nice thought i'll put them away for our daughter ...i have kept alot of photos too and put them in a box for when the little one is older....i dont hate her dad i just dislike what he has done to me but our daughter sees us happy and getting alone thats how i want it......but deep down i want to throttle him lol....but thats life and at least now i get to have alot of fun wink

I have two engagement rings from previous relationships, one I'm saving for my daughter as her Dad and I split when she was a baby.
The other one I still have from a long past relationship, I left him but can't seem to throw the ring away (not that it's be worth much). However much pain that relationship caused me I just can't do it.

Actually, looking at an article in the Independant, make sure the ring gets thrown at YOU, then take it and sell it.
Gold = $450 an ounce.
Now let me see, there is mine, mine that got too small for me, hers .... thats about Â£800 lol

I honestly can't remember what happened to my ex wedding ring, I think it must have just shrivelled up and disappeared into past distant dust - bit like him really :twisted:

Unfortunately that's the price of pure gold. 9ct gold used for wedding rings is only 9/24 gold, I'm not sure what the rest is, probably copper and silver.
