As and when she come across "possibilities" (???) at or involved with work she has a very special little mantra that she repeats to herself. Her example of it both gives me the hard, and makes me giggle.

so what is the mantra???
the suspense is killing us?
I dare not.
I'm in enough trouble tonight
:scared:

To do or not to do that is the question... lol
Hey guys, so the question has to be....do you think pursuing a work mate is a good idea? and if so, what flirting is acceptable with a work mate (so that if they dont feel the same you dont get fired!! mad )

It can work..............it's worked for us.
Stuart was an apprentice in the wood-mill and I was receptionist when we met. We worked together until I had our first child. We eventually moved home, moved county and bought a business where we worked together all day every day. We're still together - even after 26 years marriage.
I'm not saying it works for everyone but it certainly did for us. It just shows that if you meet the right person nothing will stop you being happy together.

Nice one, really goods to hear stories like yours... smile
Mrs. DP and I met because we were working on the same site, but it was huge (well over 4,000 members of staff IIRC), and if things hadn't worked out we wouldn't have had to work with each other, and probably wouldn't have bumped into each other very often at work. We actually met whilst waiting for the same bus home outside the hospital gates.
I've done this twice... confused
The first time I had a thing with the guy who owned the pub I worked in. It was an on off thing for about four years and I have good memories and bad. The worst part was the gossip amongst the regulars! rolleyes
The second time was with a guy at work... that ended pretty sharpish when I was questioned about my BJ talents by the office sleazeball... there's no need for that kind of chat going round the office. Well that and he didn't return the favour... the guy that is, not the sleazeball! lol
I'd never do it again... business and pleasure just shouldn't mix.
Definately not for me. All of the peeps I work with are men also  And the only woman in our section packed so many "too many pounds" that she was three months pregnant before she found out

im not even gunna ask?? surprised
It seems from all of the posts that if you do mess around with someone at work the rest of the office will soon find out!!
It's not something I could see myself doing confused At the moment I am helping (dragging) my best mate through a very nasty situation at work sad Her ex-partner has been sleeping with at least one girl that also works at the same place and everybody knows about it. Although we all work on different departments, due to the size and nature of the workplace, my mate has to see both the ex and the other woman on a daily basis :( She is also pregnant by this man and has today been admitted to hospital ( no doubt because of the stress she is under :( ) I too see them both everyday and I struggle to keep my mouth shut (he can't even look at me) so how she copes with holding her head up everyday I will never know.
I realise this might me an extreme case for the, " No, don't do it!!" camp, but I know it would make me seriously consider ever making my workmates more than just friends :?
that sounds really tough minx.. i hope your friend feels better soon, and of course that everything goes ok with the pregnancy..
i should have put a poll on the thread shouldnt i...am guessing so far it would be about 90% Dont do it AJ!! biggrin
thanks for all the comments guys...its been a really interesting discussion so far.. cool
