Forum

Ok, sorry to create a new thread but seeing as the last one got locked it seems my only option...
Firstly it wasn't an appeal for attention, it was a statement that I was leaving. Which is also why I didn't follow the thread to see peoples responses. I only had a quick glance today out of curiosity, then I noticed how the thread had gone.
If people really are worried about people only posting for attention then feel free to lock this. But this isn't exactly the most active forum, I don't see the boards clogged with this stuff.
Sure it got attention, which is perhaps good if it highlighted to the regulars here at how insular this community can seem to newbies. If it leads to an introspective then that is good.
Now, as for how forums work. I know this. I've probably been a member of more forums than most of you have ever even heard of. I was at university when the whole thing took off and so we spent a lot of time trying everything out. I know how forums work, I know people take time to accept others, and all said this isn't close to being a bad forum. I've known plenty where people just post to insult others that is how they get their kicks. That is very sad in my opinion.
But this community does seem closed. It's probably the nature of the site that fires that, people are vulnerable, probably taking risks and have things to lose. Consequently they don't welcome people in easily.
Thank you to those people who made nice comments, sadly there were a few idiotic comments but you always get that. Why anyone thinks throwing insults on a thread like that will help anything or make their point look intelligent is beyond me.

It just won't be the same without you!! dunno

Sarcasm from the mods. Thats a welcoming, responsible attitude. Although kinda does ice the cake.
Thanks. wink
Well following the form of my other posts I doubt this will even be noticed..
But now having clocked up more than 50 posts and having a grand total of about 2 responded to I figure it would be easier to penetrate a strict catholic virgin before marriage than break into this community...
I*ve tried talking to people, posting an ad, answering ad's and after the complete lack of response I feel like the man with herpes at a munch. So, this is to say I realise this obviously isn't the place for me and so goodbye.
In the morning remind me that I have that appointment at the clinic..

This thread also begs the question: has the Labour Party gone too far with its social freedom and justice for all policies. By denying parents the right to smack their children when they are small (and I don't mean excessive child abuse there) we have encouraged a generation of adolescents that have adopted the view that they can do what they want, to whom they want and be totally free from reproachment. I can't see that changing in the foreseable future - or at least until we establish a government that supports the victim and not the offender.
What are the underlying factors: Gang Rap/Culture, violent video games, lack of parental control or care, inability of the courts to deal with consistent offenders, schools even?
I do believe that we are a product of our environment, I was caned at school and punished by my father - often both for the same thing - and it taught me that discipline and pain are associated with bad behaviour, take that away and there is no effective deterrent by which teenagers can gauge the consequences of their actions - knowing the difference between right and wrong is sometimes not enough.
.

Sorry but I think that's a load of crap to be blunt.
I was never smacked or disiplined with violence at any stage in my life. I have seen just about every bloody, violent, banned or offensive film and played every similar computer game that were made.
Result? The last time I hit someone was in the playground probably between 10 and 15 years ago. I've never even been spoken to by the police except if I say hello to an officer when passing them in the street.
Yes upbringing has a huge influence on the person you become but to think that violence is the way to control and teach someone is narrow minded and ridiculous.
Computer games and movies don't make monsters of children. It's the lack of tutoring on how to deal with the information they are given that causes the problems.
Explanation and discussion will always be a vastly superior way to influence someone than by hitting them.
That is pretty funny. Although someone is a very bitter individual. biggrin

This thread gives honest explanations as to what swinging means to people and any observations have to be general. I would just question the motives of the single guys that say they are not into swinging but just enjoy the forums and the friendships. Are they wolves in sheeps clothing?

what makes u thing ALL single guys have a motive!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm a Single guy, and i deffo not got any motives ..well except to get to know new ppl. i hate it when we get tarred with the same brush!
Fair enough there are a lot of idiots that float about her, but not all US single males are the same. i like to think myself as a person who can be trusted and someone who shows respect to others.
The sole reason for me going to parties and munches is to meet new ppl and have fun. if this de classifys me as being a swinger then so be it!.
JGL
As I said before I think it's incredibly hard to break any ground as a single male. I think there are so many that are idiots or just messing around that it makes us very hard to trust as a group. Something that's a shame for the honest, genuine few...

I think of and see it as a good oportunity to meet new people and try new things.
Although being a single male it's not so easy as you feel more like a social leper most of the time..

Rather than feel ostracised by those who presume themselves to be superior to single males, I prefer to regard them as having ostracised themselves from my company.
Anyway, they are in the minority in my experience. Maybe you've just been unlucky so far with the people you've encountered? Chin up, if ever there was a place where the otherwise outcast is as respected as anyone else, this, I assure you, is it. biggrin
Thanks, and yeah I'm pretty sure I've just been unlucky thus far. Hopefully that will change with time. lol

I would say Redbird. But out of the originals listed then I think Blue.
Well it's different. Most people ask for suggestions for exciting places to have sex outside.
I like a reworking of a classic. biggrin

what you all think?? biggrin

i think that both teams are overpaid overrated and quite frankly can't thinkof much worse to watch!
i can coronation street, eastenders, casualty, emmerdale farm, big brother, any more diy shows, the list is endless, roll on sunday 2-0 to the gooners i think, but more important come on bristol rovers lol
Don't watch any of that either ....... football used to be a working man's game, where the men were men and not poncy long haired pretty boys ... sorry but football just ain't what it used to be !!!!
Nope it's not the same. Thank god!
It's now a vastly superior and far more skillfull game.
It's a shame the 1% of professional footballers that are long haored pretty boys spoil the game for you. rolleyes
It does get a little tedious when people think you can't play football because you have long hair and don't look like you've been hit in the face with a bag of spanners. I personally find a hat trick usually shuts them up pretty fast though.

I didn't say it wasn't skillful ... just that it wasn't the same game it used to be ... I just don't think it's worth the X million that will be generated tomorrow .... 22 men running round a pitch lining their own pockets and those of the big fat directors ... used to be open to every working man .. it isn't now as most tickets are priced out of proportion along with merchandise.
Ahh well yes the ticket prices are a lot higher, which does take it away from a lot of people. A dad with two kids could pay £50 a match easily to have to watch. Not too many families could so that 38 games a year.
But that said the injection of cash has helped to raise the standard of the game a lot more is expected and produced now.
Whether anything is worth it is open to debate. Is it right footballers get paid £50k a week. Well, if the demand is there then yes. You can't really blame them. If society is prepared to pay for it then they are to blame. Modern footballers do have to work very hard and it really does rule your life for your playing career. They provide a servuce which people are prepared to pay for so fair enough, I have no problem with it.

As for Sunday, too close to call. On form you have to favour Arsena they are playing much betterl, but with Man U against Arsenal form means nothing. Both teams have the capacity to take the other to pieces on their day.
I believe that United will have more drive and will just shade it on the day 3-1 with a late third as Arsenal chase.

Sad answer, but my best friend. We could be stuck there for eternity and still find crap to talk and joke about and never get bored. We'd survive anything.

Same here I aint seen the one of Mr Bigleys murder but have seen the other two and it worries me that the internet is another way to condition our youngsters and the sicker eliment on this planet into thinking that human life is worthless all people on this site who share yourselves with others will agree that being human is beutifull and shouldn't be portrayed as it is at the moment.

Completely disagree. Surely actually seeing the brutality and the raw consequences of death will teach people a lot more about the value and frailty of life than the way they see it portrayed in every other form of media, be it film, TV, or print.
If this doesn't bring home the reality then why do people get so offended?
As for the video, yes I've seen it. Because I'm sick, weird or a freak. Maybe it helps some people to label others like that. Simple fact though I was curious, as is human nature.
Maybe I'm becoming desensitised but to be honest I can't say it has deeply tramatised me. It's not a pleasant thing to watch and I gained no pleasure from watching it. It was disturbing to watch. But I would say that for me I did the right thing, it did satisfy my curiosity and I learnt from it. I think it's a brutal lesson in what people are capable of and what they are prepared to do. Something you don't get exposed to by conventional media.
As many people have said it's up to you whether you watch these things, I had to search and click a download button. I knew exactly what I was doing and while it was downloading I was nervous as I didn't know how I would react. But personally I wanted to see it and be aware of what people will do and are capable of doing to each other.
I would never campaign for censorship.
The only conern I would have would be towards the family, knowing the video was available would be terrible. If it was my relative I have no idea if it would help me to see their final moments or whether it wouldn't. That is also a question I hope I never find out the answer to.

Then you can lie in warmth and comfort and not have to venture out into the cold to post here. biggrin
Certainly my recommendation. lol

Anyone know the model of Vauxhall? Wheel trims come in different sizes, so we'd need to know the right type...

It said in the quote up there that it was a Vectra.
Who in their right mind steals wheel trims from a Vauxhall?
Must be a cry for attention. lol
