So does "I don't mind" mean "I want to"?
идиот!

Oh I just love a quiz
eeeermm ..NO!
do I get a prize....oh go on ...perhaps just a little private insult just aimed at me ...go on I'm ready.
Do you not see my point though? when I speak I am quite literal, maybe it was good teaching who knows? When I say one thing I mean it, not just something-ish nearly the sort of same as.

Yes you areentitled to an opnion, but if you wish to insult others then don't take umbrage when insults are returned to you.
Jas

Easy for you to pontificate seeing as you are a mod. I wonder if your opinion would be the same if you were not?
I somehow don't think so!

I think given the rather hash circumstances I feel justified, remember it's just my opinion and I'm allowed to have one. aren't I?

I don't mind being the one who organises a munch meet if there's none already organised

OK, explain to me slowly (cos I'm a bit thick) how the above statement is NOT saying that you would like to organise a munch.
As I said a page back, you're just pissed off cos people don't want you to organise it.
That's it really, isn't it... come on, be a man and admit it! :rascal:

Bathcolin, I think I'm one of the stoppiest members on this forum.
And tonight even I wanna give you a slap. :sparring:
Go re-read your threads and have a little re-think. Preferably with a clear head. Ok?

If only eh? Insults again, i don't know, it just shows how immature you are if you can't enter into discussion on a subject without insulting someone?
btw what is stoppiest? lol

I haven't said I would organise one nor have I said I'd like to organise one. so what exactly is the problem with everyone trying to block me on this matter?

I didn't say i'd like to organise one did I? read the words as you see them. I don't mind... if there's none..., it was my way of maybe getting people interested in the idea, the fact that someone MIGHT organise one. Actually I was hoping for one of the more established members to take the reins and take over. How wrong I was, all I've had since is grief!

I've been around here for a while now and posted probably more than my fair are two things that have always puzzled me.
people don't like the site or are pissed off with it,why do they feel the need to say so and make a drama out of it?
do those of us left get so wound up when they do?
It's a frredom of thought and expression site,if you don't like it then it's not for you,but what the hey. biggrin

I just wanna know why some people think that I shouldn't ask if people would be up for a munch in my area? I haven't said I would organise one nor have I said I'd like to organise one. so what exactly is the problem with everyone trying to block me on this matter?
If someone can answer that question without telling me it's because iI'm not a known member I'll be happy. Basically I'm being stopped from asking people's opinions. (re the removal of the poll, again-why?)
Am I asking too much here?
Thanks for your comments Lazeeboy.

Cos Colin wants us all to say what we think of him....
My personal view is that Colin has spat his dummy out over something and nothing, and now is trying to foster support for his daft behaviour.
In short - Bath/Bristol munch - good idea.... BathColin being a member of this forum - bad idea.
Nuff said.
"In short - Bath/Bristol munch - good idea".......as long as BathColin has nothing to do with it.
AT LEAST I LIVE IN THE AREA!

I'm sorry but I think that you are in the wrong forum !! confused
Playschool is just round the corner... :?
With the rudness you have , you will not have any adult responses. Try being a little more polite and don't jump down everyones throats... :?

these are direct quotes from other members of this site supporting me, not my own views. (although i'm slowly begining to think that way) that's all. if you can't take the constructive criticism?
gimme strength!

As you have been told before BathColin, no-one is saying this is not a bad idea, just that the way you are going about it is wrong. Mailing us and calling all the moderators from the forum and chat room "little hitlers" and "dictators" isn't going to help your cause! Joining in the discussions on the board WILL help you, why not do that, eh? If you want us not to treat you like a child, stop behaving like one please! The email you sent came to the same little hitlers that moderate this forum. Yes, we also deal with the email complaints as well.
Now, BathColin, the next move is your's, but I suggest you take the advice that has been offered to you on your previous thread about this issue, or shut up and go away. Your move, mate!
If anyone wants to arrangle a Bath/Bristol munch, as always, once something is organised, we are more than happy to make it sticky.

how much more do I have to do to make you understand? All I'm trying to do is raise the awareness of other members to the fact that 1, there are no munches set up in this area. 2, would they like a munch to be set up in this area. 3, I'm not remotely interested in setting up a munch in fact I'd be very very happy to have someone else set it up and I can then attend and maybe meet some like minded people from my area and maybe, just maybe be allowed to enjoy myself without all these hurdles being put in front of me.
i can appreciate you all being cautious but if you all pulled your heads out of the sand for just one minute you would realise i've been here on this site for a lot longer than you realise. I really can't believe i'm having to write this stuff down, it's all basic english too! surely you can see what my reasons are for putting up these posts? What language are we using in here?
And finally. Why has my poll been removed? How chidlish.

i'M SURE THIS'LL BE -- LOCKED OR REMOVED BY SOMEONE WHO KNOWS NOTHING OF THE DEFINITION OF THE WORD FORUM.
NO CHANCE OF MAKING IT HERE NOW? THAT'S HOW BLINKERED THE PEOPLE ON HERE ARE! I HAVEN'T MADE ENEMIES AT ALL, THEY HAVE CHOSEN TO MAKE ENEMIES WITH ME, READ MY POSTS AND READ MY COMMENTS.
THANKS TO THOSE PEOPLE WHO CONTACTED ME DIRECT AND HAVE GIVEN ME SUPPORT ON THIS MATTER.
I would suggest you get someone that is better known in the Forum to arrange it. You haven't been here a week yet!!
This apparently is constructive feedback?

BathColin.... unless I've slept for a year or so and I am now well out of the reality loop, your join date is the 11th Dec 2004. Therefore, you have NOT been on the forum for a year! OK, you might have been lurking for a year or you might have been using the photo ads for a year, and indeed, you might have been in the chat room for a year... if so, I'm sure people from the room who are also regs on the forum will jump to your defense here....
However, as munches are organised on the forum, it is your FORUM join date that people will look at. Rightly or wrongly, people do prefer to go to munches organised by people who are well known. Sarge was trying to give you some constructive feedback, and frankly your attitude was not the best, was it. As Clare says, this doesn't instill confidence in anyone to take you seriously.
At this point I might add that munches are open to everyone so the mix of males and females is irrelevant. The more popular munches are attended by almost all the regulars and a considerable number from the chat room too. Invites to attend are not given based on gender, and never will be.

I joined the forums on 11 dec 2004 not the site.
Does it instill confidence in the people on these forums when someone is told they aren't well known enough to suggest a meeting.
I realise that people prefer to go to munches organised by people that are well known but as I've already pointed out, no-one is organising one in this area and I'm trying to whip up the interest for one.
Who was going to give out invites based on gender?

You need to learn to walk before you can run. You seem very anti anybody giving you advice and defensive about how long you have been here. Everyone has raised valid points here.
"Is this OUR forum?" What sort of question is that?
"forget it" - done
"I tried" - obviously not very hard to be quite honest. 11 posts in six days, most of those having a go at people giving you solid advice.
Mal
Basically I'm damned before I start. Tell you what why not let me get on with it and lets see what happens.
As I said in my original post on the forum "would" you attend a munch in the Bath or Bristol area? I think the composition of the sentence says it all. I'm not trying to run before I can walk. just because I appeared on this forum a very short while ago doesn't mean I haven't set up or organised anything like this before. Why are you all intent on putting the idea down? As I said previously if someone else who has a bit more "respect" on here wants to organise a munch then fair enough but no-one is!
And why are all the people who seem to be against this idea from out of this area? I'd appreciate some comments from people from the Bath or Bristol area. Do you think it's a good idea and would you attend if one was organised?
Feedback please.

WOULD YOU ATTEND A MUNCH IN THE BATH OR BRISTOL AREA? <~~ is an enquiry!
Does it not suggest to you that the reason I'm putting the idea of a munch meet in Bath or Bristol together is because nobody else is trying to sort one out? I looked on the forum and couldn't find any in this area. Your suggestion would be great, apart from the fact that no-one has tried in the past to set one up or indeed looks like setting one up in the near future. I can at least try and plant the seed can't I?.
As for the comment of "You haven't been here a week yet!! " I've been a member of this site for around a year, just because I don't make regular comments in the forums doesn't mean I don't deserve to suggest a munch meet! :coffee:
If there is anyone that is better known in the forum who would like to set up a munch, then all I can say is GET ON WITH IT!  biggrin

It is a very good point of view to put what makes me love christmas sooo much is seeing the joy on my childrens faces it is purely magical and wouldnt want to miss that for all the world.
As for religion i myself am not religios so my kids can learn about all that from nursey and school.
This time of year always makes me think of the less as we have as many troubles as everyone else then i enjoy this time of year even more as it makes me realise exactly what ive and i always watch Eastenders on christmas day as i really cheer myself up seeing all the misery elsewhere biggrin

Thinking of the less fortunate is admirable, doing something about it is better.
Before anybody starts, I'll be doing the soup run in Bath for all the homeless people, most of whom are just kids! coffee :yinyang:

Seeing as the majority of people are gearing up for maniac season ... anyone not taking part in Xmas??? (for whatever reason!)
Let non Xmas idiots unite and stand up tall against the chaos ..... you know the season of peace and goodwill to all unless of course you don't celebrate for one reason or another in which case peace and goodwill go out the window and in steps namecalling and intolerance .....
Now a more serious message
Christmas is a not a joyous time for everyone ..please bear this in mind ... whilst you're busy stuffing your faces and excessing .... think of those single and/orelderly people .... think of all those enduring painand suffering, missing loved ones who are absent or have passed on in the last year. Share a thought for all those laid up seriously ill, for the families of xmas alcoholics struggling to cope. For all those in debt, lost or homeless.
For all the people displaced from families and countries due to war or persecution.
Call them scrooge ... shout Bah Humbug to them and feel good about yourselves?
In a country where religious freedom is a pride, it shames me to see people criticising others for their beliefs ...
We do celebrate a form of xmas here ... very small and peaceful, we spend time with our families and the gifts we give are more about love and understanding than monetary value. Our christmas this year will be sent comforting a very sick old man who lost his wife of 50 years last xmas eve - decorations and gift feel inappropriate. We'll be nursing a child with cancer who is still seriously ill, unbrainwashing our children that xmas is christs b'day and teaching them about the real roots of the festival, but trying at the same time to instill values of peace and goodwill to all men.
Calista xx
(a tad pissed off )

I can't agree more. How can these people who say they are "religious" be so selfish at Xmas. And yes if you do believe in the Jesus thing then you're even sadder!!

Self adhesive stickers, especially the ones made for glass or bumper stickers
Nail varnish/pear drops/poppers
Xmas dinner/sunday roasts
Newly laid carpets
Cream soda
Dandelion & burdock
Leather (especially when worn and warm)
Freshly sawn wood
Fresh baked bread just out of the oven
The smell of the seaside/seashore
Freshly cut grass (even though it makes me sneeze coz of my hayfever)
The smell of the countryside after it's been raining
Fresh ground coffee
Bacon and eggs cooking

I recommend you take a small toolkit along and tighten up all the bolts holding the bed together, move the bed away from the wall and give it a test. This should sort out the bed. Can't help if you're noisy though! lol redface
