we try to feed our child a healthy and varied diet. we substitute highfat for lowfat where possible. but our son has a condition that makes it very hard to give him as varied a diet as we would like him to have, we do have full support of our doctor. but he is still looks overweight, but our doctor is not concerned because he is within paramiters for his height, and he is healthy. he is 5ft tall and only eight. but to outsiders i know they look at him and see an obese child. so i don't think you can generalise and say that it is always the fault of the parents and they should be done for child abuse. when too many people are willing to point an accusing finger without knowing all the facts. and cause irrepairable damage to families. lets face it the state of social services is highly questionable and i have lost all faith in them due to recent headlines and past performances.
seeing that on the news the poor babe reminded me of the victoria climbie case where she was failed right across the board by the very agencies set up to protect her. it was said in government reports that it should never happen again. well they've just proved they are basically worth shit when it has. i hope she rests in peace the poor child

thanks matt i cried because it made me really sit up and think that i was not the centre of the universe and bad things happen to even the nicest people. i was young and selfish (in a teenage way) . that film made me think. not many films have the power that one had. strange to some people but makes perfect sense to me dunno but mr wadefun has always said i was strange :haha: :haha: :haha:

my parents were married for 28 years before my mum passed on. but those 28 years were the happiest they had both ever had. i was the envy of all my friends because my mum and dad had such a happy marriage. (most of my friends were from broken homes) we threw them a big silver wedding anniversary party to celebrate and show them how much everyone loved them. my mum and dad said it was a perfect way to celebrate surrounded by friends and family who all wished them well. my dad who recently passed away said it had been one of his best memories of his marriage that he could of wished for. so congrats to your parents and take my word for it, it will be a lasting happy memory for them both and if they have family arround them even more so. material things fade over time but memories live on forever
 and lots and lots of
i think some people should just learn to keep their mouth shut, i have been overweight most of my life a size 22/24 and really get pissed off when people i hardly know commenting on my weight without knowing anything about me or my life. i have become so thick skinned now and just ask them a personal question back and watch the shock horror of their expression (much to my amusement) when they fluster to try and tell me its none of my business. you are what you are whether its big small or somewhere in between. the only thing i can give as advice is you have to love yourself to love your body size and unless medical reasons say to change or you really want to, don't diet or it will fail. it took me long enough to realise this but now am so happy i have.
