So once the Shiny New Toy syndrome wore off, I've been coming here less and less. At first I thought it was just because I was busy - in part with a potential new girlfriend - but I am increasingly of the opinion that this isn't the place for me, at least for now.
Might come back later. Time will tell. It usually does.

I suspect the darkest skin tones can be a real bitch to light properly. Imagine what a flash can do to a normally attractive person, then imagine how much worse it can get if they're topless. Breasts just don't deserve that kind of bad press.
In all seriousness, I doubt there's any 'active' racism at work; but it does make me wonder... if all ethnic groups were equal, would the same amount of each take their tops off? Probably not. Different cultures, upbringing, points of view, and so on, and so forth. So my first instinct is not to read anything into it.

A centrum a day keeps deficiency symptoms away... or something. I pop a vitamin pill most days after breakfast, usually because I'm not eating properly. It would help if they'd deliver my frelling fridge, of course.
It's my understanding that if one vitamin or another is lacking, the body gets grumpy in some specific way. I assume it's harder to overdose on a vitamin than go without it...

The last television show that blew me away was Firefly. As the creator once said, "Cancelled tv shows do not get made into major motion pictures," and yet that one was. If you aren't a Browncoat already, Firefly (and the movie, Serenity) is basically cowboys in space. The group of actors rock as much as the writing and design.
I stopped watching television completely a while back. The tv licence guy came in, took one look at my dvd collection and didn't require further convincing. Now, if someone says there's something I really should see, I go look it up on youtube or something. That's how I got into the revamped Doctor Who.
Right now, the one to watch seems to be House. Hugh Laurie playing an American doctor, or some such. I haven't seen enough for it to have the opportunity to blow me away, though.

I lost my driving licence due to being drunk behind the wheel, went a winter without a car, and discovered I didn't actually need the thing. Never bothered to get the licence back. For years now I have been free of car insurance and maintainance, road tax, the ever-increasing price of petrol... and most of the time, bad drivers. So much stress off my back.
The one major factor in driving is time. Get the kids to school on time, then get to work on time. The car is the best way to do that, because even if things get messy at 0830, a car can make a difference. However, I suspect people choose to drive when they don't have to far too often. These people have to stop taking other modes of transportation for granted.
(As for car pollution... car exhaust isn't bad for the environment so much as our environment. The people who whine about it rarely make this important distinction. Car exhaust fumes can kill us - it's even a valid suicide method - therefore I'd rather we produce less of the stuff.)
