well that escalated quickly
The first song that gave me goosebumps and actually made me feel something (hard to describe, almost like a painful pull in my chest) was Pachabel's Canon. There is a certain part to it where it just 'hits' me. I first listened to it sat outside a hospital when I was about 14. I still love it now, and hate when it is used as a sample on rubbish songs.
As far as singers go, Corey Taylor singing Vermillion. There's just something about his voice that makes nothing else matter.
I think a big point being missed in a lot of these debates on the internet is the use of the term 'benefits'. This is going to affect people who are working hard too. It isn't just the unemployed who receive housing benefit and occupy social housing. People who are working their backsides off on low wages rely on the housing benefit top ups/working tax credit/child tax credit. These are all classed as 'benefits'. I think the bedroom tax is ridiculous. The families that make the headlines in the scum papers that everyone sees as representative of unemployed wouldn't be affected anyway.. and the daily mail type 'dole dosser' is all media hype designed to turn us against each other so we fail to see the big picture. I strongly suggest looking up the facts on how much things like benefit fraud actually cost this country compared to government errors and tax avoidance. *HINT* you won't find the real figures in the daily rags!!
I never feel knowledgable enough to debate anything really, although my confidence in that area is growing as I age. I always feel that others know more than me. I personally hate references from google.. it is a dangerous place. If I do debate something I try to back it up with peer reviewed research but even then I tend to be over crtitical of methodology etc. I guess that's just due to the area I am in. I know quite a bit about psychology but more the biological basis behind behaviours rather than the social side of it.
Looks fun.. I think the age rating given is absolutely disgraceful though.
double vodka and red bull for me... I'm in for an all-nighter study session!! Unless you could also find me a minion to come and finish this lab report by the morning?
In what way? And since when?
I've been away for a couple of years, and am missing the old faces and regular posters. It seems a lot quieter, but still not bad (I don't think I would be here if I wasn't getting it for free though).
I'm probably similar to how I am in real life... as I have become more argumentative and sure of myself in person, I have also gone that way on forums. I do get paranoid more online that people will misinterpret what I am trying to say though.
