Interesting point - if you are in favour of free speech in this country - then you should be lobbying to repeal the incitement to racial hatred act. Arguments about free speech are fine - its we dont have it in the UK. If anyone makes a speech inciting hatred against a racial minority in this country - they will get banned
interestingly, jews and sikhs - though they could be considered relgions - are considered races for the purposes of the Act - because effectively in the act's eyes - all jews are of semitic origin and all sikhs are of punjabi origin. Thus effectively for the purposes of the law , they are considered races. Muslims (and buddhists) because they are multi-racial religions are not protected under the act. Thus you can say things about muslims and bhuddists that would be illegal if said about jews/sikhs/hindus - which is of course why the BNP make all sorts of comments about muslims which they couldnt make about asians/pakistanis/indians/black people

freedom of speech is a interesting thing - its just we dont have it here. If anyone comes into this country to promote anit-semitism or other forms of racial hatred - they get banned. Its the law. Simple as that. How come all the people on this forum who want Wilders to express his freedom of speech never complained about Louis Farrakhan from being banned. Or holocaust deniers being banned? We simply dont have freedom of speech - anyone who incites racial hatred will be banned here.
after listnening to comments on here- i have slightly changed my opinion on clarkson - watched a show last nite about him and his mates driving across botswana - it was pretty good - and I enjoyed it. However, he should stick to cars and i will listen to his opinions - and anything else - i am not sure about
i think the best way often is a change of scenery, holiday, new job, move abroad, new friends. Read in sunday times about a guy in australia who was heartbroken when his wife left him - so he put everying he owned for sale on ebay, i mean the money to go travelling - his story is amazing - and inspiring - they are making a movie of his life ! Clear that life is not smooth preogression upwards - but will be lots of bumps - the thing is how one handles those bumps.

calling brown a scottish idiot is fine - thats a statement i agree with. calling him a one-eyedscottish idiot is hutrful, and smacks of playground behaviour - i think abusing someone because of their appearance is inappropriate. would it be accptable to called david blunkett a blindmoron. you can call obama a fool - that's fine - its a free country . calling him a black fool is not on.
