I don't know if it is just me but in the last few weeks I have begun to think the chatrooms are becoming a little boring.. I expected that the new multi chat would be really exciting but it just seems to have made it more spread and less exciting? maybe its just me but having 4 servers and mutiple rooms in each is a little excessive? servers 3 and 4 never seem to be used and everyone wants to be in server 1. I like the multi cam feature but there seems to be less people using the chatrooms since the update.. Its very rare nowadays that their are over 1200 in chat in the evenings. most of the time its 800-1000 and everyone in piled into server 1... I used to love it but .. Has it had its day?
Any thoughts?

yes we thought exactly the same things - "extra's" room is totally pointless and less and less people are using chat rooms nowadays. There seems to be a hell of a lot of people with blank profiles or location "unknown" and therefore no one trusts or entertains them - hence not many actually speak in the chat rooms.

I hardly go in at all now, they are flat and boring, especially with the new set up.
A great shame, as we once thought they were great to have a bit of fun in, oh and find the odd man or two to meet.
Even the usual suspects are not enjoying them it seems now, as they all seem to type that in open chat about how bored they all are!!

I find the chatrooms are what you make them. Some nights I go in and there's not much going on, other nights we have a great laugh. I guess it depends on the people who use them, what's going on and who's there.
I tend to switch off when people are moaning about stuff. I generally get enough of that in my every day life so it makes for much better escapism when folks are upbeat and cheerful. :thumbup:

Yes I've noticed the chatrooms are quieter these day. Not sure why, but there seems to be less people overall. I don't think it's anything to do with the new design, although I think it could do with a few modifications, but somehow the spark has gone.

I guess I'm not really interested in the statistics. I mainly use the chatrooms to chat, it fulfills that need for me. If I want to look at a bloke wanking then I watch and it fulfils that need also. If I want to watch people fucking then I watch it fulfils that need too.
Can you tell me what it is that you'd like to see? How can it improve so that you'd get the best out of it?

Hosts can already see who's watching their cam just like before - it's the Eye icon.
With regard to kicking without warning for whispering and directing, a number of users don't know about the rules. I know they should read them, but we can't force them to before they join chat. However, you only need to warn any user once and then you can kick. I also think we should give some users the benefit of the doubt (e.g. they may be new and not realise what the issue is). This is about being a good Host/Op and educating people in appropriate etiquette.
If anyone is causing disruption in the rooms (e.g. people not being able to deal with single males as well as other situations such as persistent whispering), I have discreet chats with them in whisper and send them PMs. Other Ops take similar action. If anyone has hassle from another member, they can always report it. Admin look into these reports and take action where appropriate.
Regarding people using multiple rooms, I get the impression that most concentrate on one room at a time. I don't think that just because it's there it will automatically lead to a lowering of chat quality. Likewise with people being able to watch more than one cam at once.

Yes but there was a certain intimacy when you knew that the watcher was watching you and you alone. Now they may just want to fill all the top boxes.
I raised this subject of multiple occupation in chatrooms a while ago. I think its desrupting chat, as many people go into several rooms and dont chat in any of them.
I am reasonably lucky as many people that visit my room on server 2, say that its one of the friendliest rooms as we all chat to everyone. We like to make people welcome. But the onus of course is on the chatters themselves to make the room buzz and vibrant.
I suppose one of the things that makes my room work is the chat is not excluselive about sex, we do politics, music, general stuff, we debate and argue, but its all in good spirit and it comes back to sex in the end.

I have found in the years ( yes I'm old) that I have used chat rooms they do tend to go through quiet patches then tend to bounce back.
People drift away then come back as they do in normal life.
I used to be on line 24/7 now I pop in from time to time .
Stick with it it will return.
Also people don't like change that much and with all the changes that I have seen go on with swinging heaven people are getting lost I personally don't think this helps.

The one thing that everyone has forgotten here is that members can only view more than one cam if they have extras so if a normal member is looking at your cam,they are only looking at yours.
And if you have a quick look when you're in a room which is full you'll notice that not very many have extras.

I perhaps didn't express myself well (always a challenge when you're typing rather than having a conversation).....it doesn't matter what webpages you put in front of people, you can't guarantee they have read it or understood it.

we have used the chat rooms virtually every day since we joined ............. and it has definitely gone downhill big time - we all have different opinions and views, which is good and healthy, but its getting to the stage now where it literally is just a site for people who just want "entertaining" sat at home watching a 'cleavage', an 'arm' , a 'shirt' or some guy tugging away for 4 or 5 hrs ....... and as for 5 cams??? you are lucky if you find one with someone's face on to have a sensible conversation with.
Its turned into a 'voyeur' site and loads of genuine swingers have left in droves - which is a shame - 2 years ago it was tremendous - its slowly becoming a laughing stock in the swinging world.

I just looked and viewed two cams ... just wouldn`t let me look at any more.
So if the ppl are viewing your cam are not extras then there is a 50% chance they are only viewing yours

I am also a firm believer that you only get out of SH what you put in, regardless of if your on the forums or in the chat rooms.
We all have seen some of the changes that are being made on SH. Where some I like and some I do not like, I do agree that SH must keep making changes and moving forward in an attempt to cater for everyone on SH as best they can that is the idea of the polls they run from what I can see, so if you don’t take part in those polls then your ideas etc cannot be heard, and like any poll run it’s the majority verdict that affects change. As they say, “You can please some of the people some of the time, but cant please people all of the time “ look what happened to Woolworths. Ok not a swinging site, but none the less a company/business who did not keep up with the times, so it was goodbye Woolworths
There is such a vast amount of different people on SH, and all looking for different things. SH tries to cater for everyone, as they recognise there is a vast difference on SH which is expanding all the time, Hence the poll option and members given the choice to open up polls of their own etc.
Swinging for me is all about choice. Everyone is entitled to their own choices they make on SH. Just because they may be different does not make them any less welcome on SH. You have those that just use the forums, those that just use the chat rooms, those who will just use the adds section. You have those who just visit clubs and only use their profiles to let others know what clubs they use etc. I tend to use the chat rooms more than the forums, with those I tend to be more a reader than a poster.

If the attitude of people is that of un-approachable then how can you expect others who entre that room to just start up a conversation. How many of us have read posts in the forum and after reading some posts think that the poster comes across and none approachable etc and that’s just by a post they have made. Let alone in the chat rooms. Or just sat in a chat room watching the chat of a person and thought that same thing, or even by reading their profiles
If I am in any chat room and a member comes in and says “Hi room†then as far as I am concerned they have acknowledge the WHOLE room and I will always reply with a “Hello†back. I will try as best I can to involve any person in the chat and banter that is going on, but if they want to just sit there and watch my cam when its on then that is their choice and they are entitled to do just that. That is THEIR CHOICE.
I think most agree that it’s a tougher place for the single guys on any swinging site as there are so many of them, so yes they have to try and make themselves stand out from the hundreds of others, but also its for other members and those who are really looking for singles to try and encourage them into the banter as well. After all, any meet or perspective meet is a two way thing, as in single guy and couple or single guy and single fem, and single males ALSO have a right to say a polite “No thank you†and when they do, not get abuse when they do.
As I say, to me it is all about attitude how you come across that will dictate so much in the chat room or where ever, approachable or none approachable or how ever you use the site in general.
This is just my views and I make my own choices to which I am entitled, but I also respect others who have different views and make different choices, because they are entitled to do so. I do not ignore frown or look down on anyone just because they have different views or opinions, just accept them for who they are and the choices they make

ive gone into one room, tried to be up beat and chatty and no one replies, fair enough, although its a chat room not a sit and say fook all room.
anyhow... i wander around and find the same people sat in several rooms. some say of hi, sorry i wasnt actually in *** room so didnt see you say hi.
they are sat in several rooms waiting to see if there is any action on the cams.
this is quite agrivating as i may actually want to get into one of my reguler rooms, but its full of missing members. they are not chatting, infact not even in there.
