I love Trivial Persuit.
I will never forget just about wetting myself playing the family edition and a younger family member answering the question...
"What 'S' is a traditional grass clearing tool carried by Death"
with...
"Strimmer"
rotflmao

My Mum is still telling people about how some small child in my family thought someone killed someone else in Cluedo with "Leed Pipping" innocent
FIRE xx
i dont think ive ever won a game of monopoly ..... ever............. and when i was younger we used to play it alot.
i still play alot of backgammon.......
and i play poker about twice a week now.......... either at the casino or private games.
I'm definately up for a SH tournament..........
Scrabble - in the caravan. We only play when on holiday and Morbius always takes 20 minutes per turn rolleyes
Triominos - again in the caravan!
Monopoly - takes forever to complete with two, and have very sad memories of the last time I played sad
Trivial Pursuit - I always get accused of cheating
- haven't played for a few years ~ hysterical memories of my father in law telling my mother in law (v religious) he was going to give her one of these when they got home  it was hot chocolate but all the younger family members were drunk and dirty minded
Cx
We play scrabble ......... but I dont always use words that can be found in an ordinary dictionary blink
We have played Trivial Pursuit once, but its the 70's or 80's version ........ so only Steve knew the answers :giggle:
Sam xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I used to play them a lot when I was younger.....I still have a lot of them at my parents house in the attic in mint condition.
Oh and hi! It's been a while, but it's good to be back! smile
My turn again!
Roll the dice...................5 and 3 that's 8
Move my counter...........
Pick up 2 letters an 'F' and a 'T' giving me F,T,S,H,I,O&E
Put the F on a double word score and there you go FETISH scoring 24 biggrin
Your turn!

Playing Triv one Xmas, my Dad had had a few too many sherries and the question he was asked was:
"What did Grace Darlings' Father keep?"
We sat around him making clucking noises as he pretended to struggle to remember the answer finally proclaiming it to be, "Chickens!!"
Laugh? I nearly died! :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
Wife and I like to play the "Ann Summers" game of Fantasy for Lovers, when we are meeting new contacts, it helps break the ice, and you can play it as seriously as you want.
Its a game where you can play with all the accoutrements, vibrators, massage oils, cameras and other items, or you can just play it very lightly and "wing it".
The best bit is of course is if you win, then you have the choice of having your fantasy played out.
chess definitelysmilejust to move brains from time to time;)
We played a similar board game to the Ann Summers one on a recent meet, which certainly helped start the evening off. Forfeits were either with 1,2,3 or 4 of you which was quite fun and they varied in the raunchiness of the act.
Other than that, Mousetrap has to be the best game ever!!!

My favourite board game has to be Tabula. A bit like Frustration and Backgammon. I think it's a bt hard to come by now, the company doesn't existor stopped making it, but it's an ancient game and can be done with 24 squares, 2 dice and handful of stones. Past Times and National Trust shops are where I've seen it now and again.
I'm having a game board mosaic'd into my patio next summer if anyone fancies a game.
(I'm back, did you miss me?)
I absolitely love board games !
My faves are scrabble & risk, also like Cluedo but numero uno is Backgammon - problem is finding a willing partner !!!
Psi
Roll the dice..............
2 and 1 makes 3
Move my counter
Ooooo I've got Miss Scarlet from behind in the Dining Room
Not the most obvious choice but I recently played snakes and ladders and what fun it was !!!!!!!!!! No actually it was - Try it before you knock it.
We often play ''Snakes and ladders'' Must remember the board one day though.... lol
got a game called "game for sex" thats canny to play and its on a board
Scrabble and Chess although don't often find anyone to play the latter sad
Was at friends for social gathering last week played a game called Therapy which is like trivial pursuit with much more fun twist. each player is a psychologist with an area of expertise and the questions are all culled from psychological papers...hold on stick with me its worth it !!!
When played with a group of friend you know quite well it makes for a very entertaining evening especially as you find out how well you really know people. even more fun is when they end up in therapy in your psychologists office you have to cure them before they can move on by accurately matching your answer to theirs to a question.
Great fun and a bit different !!
smile
biggrinI love playing board games but these days no one wants to play. I like monoply and i always seem to win so no one wants to play anymore
Great topic for a post. Funnily enough my wife and I have arranged a night with friends to play some of the good old classics. On the menu we have Twister (could get interesting), Hungry Hippos, mousetrap and of course the evening would not be complete without Connect 4!
Childish I know but hey!
Im willing to bet many kids these days have never heard of those classics! In my opinion Monopoly takes some beating but you have to set aside some time!
Cluedo, Trivial Pursuit or Chess.t

After PL's thread on god type computer games and the mention of a board game in there it got me thinking.
I love board games but these days dont find time to play games such as Monopoly and Risk as they can be time consuming and others who i can play with just don't have the same interest any more.
So do any of you still like to partake in a good stint on a board game confused:
And
Which is your favourite :?:

i love Risk but it can take days to finish a game in my household.
