.....bones not boners!
I had to wait until my late 30's (luckily) until I broke my first bone. It was my wrist which I did by blocking a ferocious shot whilst taking my turn in goal whilst playing football. A year later I broke my toe by sticking my foot in front of a ferocious shot whilst playing football......
I'd like to know who on SH has the most breakages to brag / moan about.
A few broken hearts, but no bones!
I broke my wrist by falling off the toilet, while trying to squash a blue bottle with a coat hanger. Sadly yes, this is 100% true!
den
I'm 42 and I've never broken any bones (mine or anyone else's!).
FB touches wood.
I broke my collar bone when, as a child, I was pushed off my tricycle by a grumpy old man for riding on the path.
I broke my arm when I was learning to fall. I reset that myself before going to see the doc.
My collar bone when I was kicked. Just a crack.
My hand when I fell, and was stepped on. Just a small crack, nothing serious.
broke both wrists falling out of atree when young and since then broken right arm 3 times and left anothe once doing motorbike enduro, broke 3 bones in left foot when dropped a load of 6 foot pickets on it in bosnia, and broke my nose and little finger on left arm when getting bumped in iraq ( was top cover and front vehicle got hit by a ied and us slamming breaks caused me to head but my rifle and then mangaed toget finger caught in the plastic gurad aroung the top of the vehicle.)
lol got to be more care full me lol.
Only ever managed to pick up soft tissue injuries until I was nearly 30 (simple things like managing to put a carving knife straight through my hand!).
But I set the, broken extremities, ball rolling by running (at full tilt) straight into a brick wall. It was dark, and I literally didn't see it! This rearranged my nose, quite comprehensively.
Forefinger on left hand broken while keeping wicket, I thought it was dislocated so pulled it back into place and carried on playing. It was only the next day that I went to A&E to find it was broken and needed a pin drilling down the length of it to set it in place. Spent the next 5 weeks with hook coming out of the end of my finger (very good for scratching awkward to reach places).
Brushed my (bare) foot against a door once with the result that my little toe was then at right angles to the rest of my foot! The sound that the toe made when it snapped is something I'll always remember. S'pose it'll teach me not to do dangerous things like walking around the house!
Fingers can also appear at right angles to the hand as well, one of the bones in my little finger was 'splintered' into four pieces when fielding another cricket ball (but then they do travel at quite a speed when plummeting down from 60 or so feet in the air!) ..... and I did go out and bat afterwards (alcohol can be a great painkiller/anaesthetic!)
so not a lot to brag about there, I'm afraid but, I did impale myself on a radiator tap (it had no plastic cover on it) once, after falling down the stairs, the resulting inch deep puncture wound to my buttock was a source of much amusement to many for sometime!
I was a very accident prone child and was pretty well know at the local A&E.....but my worst break was when I fractured my neck falling off my horse.....I went to the hospital but they told me I was fine and sent me home....I was walking about for a week before I went back and they x-rayed it and found out
So far not broken anything... Well, fractured my heel ice skating, but that's not really a break, just a crack.
I've dislocated my fibula playing darts (don't ask- was told "you can't dislocate that!" I still managed it), torn all the ligaments in both ankles at various points through falling out of trees and off a train once, and have been scraped off the pavement more than once with concussion (not always drink related). I've sliced my finger nearly to the bone with a knife trying to cut butter, skinned the side of my finger from knuckle to tip and shattered a nail with a hammer while puting an eyelet in canvas (sat there, looked at it, and commented "well, that's not good"), sliced another finger on a rotating blade, severely bruised my leg falling off a chair (bruise was about 7 inches round and it wasn't my fault... Honest) and have various scars from being an accident-prone child (my knees were just scabs with no skin for most of my pre-teen years, and for some of my teenage ones too, come to think of it...)
I was once told that statistically, in this country, redheads are more accident-prone. I think I proved that one over the last *coughthirtyfivecough* years...
(Okay, I'll risk it)
No broken bones here.
when i was 14 in a cycling accident broke tib and fib in 4 places, 2 breaks in each, also wrist, finger, 2 ribs, dislocated shoulder and fractured skull.
when working once crushed leg that been broken before and put 2 new breaks in it and reopened 2 of the old breaks, also working severed tendons in left hand now have bent finger
also have dislocated shoulder playing roller hockey twice.
fractured nose, playing cricket
and dislocted ankle crossing road
I broke my ankle just before last Christmas falling down stairs and I was sober. I also tore the ligaments in my foot and ankle falling over on a dancefloor - that didn't hurt though until I sobered up!
frequently broken toes cus im so clumsy lol
