It's Eurovision!!! on Saturday :bounce:
I am going to miss Terry doing his "thang" but I am sure Graham will be good.
What do you think of our entry?
Will you be cuddled up on the sofa watching the competition?
Can we win?
Sam xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I certainly hope to be if Im not tied to the bed being radished.(As opposed to ravished which doesnt always involve root salad vegetables)
Eurovision has always been a TV highlight and my kids and I have a tradition of settling down to watch it together which has resulted in many happy memories.
I remember tearing the nails off my left foot as I scattered the coffee table and its contents across the room whilst the kids and I were riverdancing to that years Irish entry.
When the kids and I are singing on long journeys we still occasionally break out into a Eurovision favourite.

Sam.... you are a eurovision slacker!!!!!! lol
the first eurovision semi-final was last night... and the 2nd semi-final is on thursday night and both are/was on BBC3.....
you have to be dedicated to the cause.....
I will have my abba wig out on saturday night, and there is a big eurovision party in town that I may go to...
Can we win..... can we eck!!!!!
if the uk doesn't finish last it will be a moral victory is the uk doesn't have any friends like the others......
Most definately will be watching, its a must, the kids will have xbox's ps2 unplugged and I will have control of the remote!!
As for the 'can we win' lets just say I do believe in some miracles but to win I reckon we'd need more than one lol
No, and I have not seen it for years, but I wish I had seen Abba, Still I did see the rerun of that.
It to me is total rubbish at it's European worst.
It is obviously fixed as Norway always give Denmark maximum points etc........
It is also a deliberate knock at the Brits, hence we now never come anywhere.
The voting is a farce but good entertainment as we always know where certain countries votes are going to go.
Some of the countries ideas on music sound like the local foxes around my way, when the female is calling for its mate. lol
But I will no doubt watch it for the voting, as that can be the best Sat night entertainment.
The woman on the television says we are going to win!!

The woman on the television might be wrong! lol

Well I am not watching any of it! I'll be washing my hair
Erm... Who is Graham?
Norton? Greene?
The contest itself is watchable for two reasons, firstly for the laughable entries and secondly for the laughable voting which are never based on songs and entirely political. One time it used to be just Greece and Cyprus at it, now it is half the old Eastern Bloc, though good old Malta still throw us a bone each year no matter what dismal offering we put forth.
Countries like us, France, Germany, Spain just stand no chance because the smaller European countries see this as a chance to bloody our noses... If only they knew, we really don't give a flying monkeys gonad about it then perhaps it would be a contest once again.
Which would be a shame, because it is often one of the funniest nights on the calendar as it is.

Oh but we do Res..........we do. wink
It is the only way some countries can kick our arses, and they enjoy every minute of it. lol
Yep Mr K, absolutely spot on...
I think they enjoy seeing the poor UK entrant, sat alone in some forgotten corner of the Eurovision Hall, with a limp flag, half arsed flowers, glum faces and flat champagne, while the rest of the hall is jumping around celebrating the winning hit, Macedonias "Lick me like a Tea Leaf and Bungee me with your Love Spoon"
Then I think of The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zep and so on and so on and feel remarkably good about our contribution musically.

If I was a female I would want your babies too.

I don't know whether to be flattered or afraid, so I'll be aflatteraid. Which is also a good name non-fizzy pop.
It would be a potent genetic mix wouldn't it Mr K? I'm not sure the world would be ready for such lurid depravity on that scale... Lets just hope our hypothetical offspring would have your looks and my spelling ability, otherwise if it's the other way around, the poor bugger hasn't got much of a chance in life... ;-)
biggrin

Very funny though Res.....it would certainly have something to say about every subject. From Mozart to tree huggers and everything else in between. lol
I think you 2 are flirting with each other????
I have seen it all now! :giggle:

A few years ago, did a Eurovision party. It was a brilliant night - I really enjoyed the whole experience - printed off the contestants and did voting over a lovely meal that I didnt cook. A couple of friends even dressed up! Not doing anything this year but I am sure I will watch it - did last year lol But I for one will miss Terry Wogan
Me watch it ... hmmm ... absolutely not ... rolleyes ... and I'll be at TG anyway cool

I've not even seen any coverage of our entry or know who is singing for us or anything. If the semi finals are anything to go by, then no way, what I saw of them, it was rubbish. I only watched 3 countries songs and got bored lol I used to always watch it aswell, but don't think Im going to this year. Sorry confused
Oh yeah I forgot Graham Norton was doing it! No, it won't be the same without Terry Wogan sad
Miss Cream xxx
Unfortunately I won't be able to watch this year. I will be otherwise engaged, having my testicles nailed to the floorboards.

One of the early Eurovisions, I suppose.

Never have, never will.
as much as we love Eurovision we are out 'Munch'ing on the night..
if you have never had a eurovision party ... you can do far worse than attend one..still you have to have an appreciation of croatian dress sense and mullet hair cuts to enjoy it..

made me think of the hot waitress in 'allo 'allo...lol.. "ze wet cellery!"
can I just say that maybe it's not specifically the uk, that some countries want to give a bloody nose?..lol..the uk-centrist theories that at times crop up do make me laugh, sometimes (in a good way ;) )
anyway...I had it on the background whilst I was doing something else, and could not bear it after a while.. mostly it sounded like being plunged in a bad '80s disco night..

Is the "nailing" being done to music?
What song & who is singing it?
Sam xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Oh I do hope not! :scared:
Although my dad said that he watches it but he turns down the sound on the telly and puts the radio on. Apparently Ken Bruce is a much better host! lol
