Right, tonight I'm fancying a film night.
I've got the Godfather Trilogy lined up (always my trusty standby films) and am going to do bath, pjs, glass of wine and the Corleones...
My question is this: if you were having a film night what film would you pick, who would you watch it with, what snacks would you choose?
I feel a Hellraiser (but I think there are 10 or 11 films now, mostly rubbish)evening coming on.

I would watch The Browning Versionthat I caught the end of on TV last night when I got in and want to see all of.
I would watch it with the love of my life - but I haven't found him yet.
I would snack on the bagels stacked on lp.

Partly because each one just about passes the 70 min mark by the time the credits roll so short action packed, pacey and fun.
Snacks probably popcorn and hotdogs with beer or big cups of pop for that authentic cinema experience, oh and boxes of maltesers.
As far as Hellraiser goes, I think it should only be the first two films with another singular film to make up the triple bill, maybe Nightbreed.
too many new ones to watch old ones ..occasionally we download old classics but then we get a back log of new ones to watch and catch up with..
It so depends on mood but - - - -
A good CSI night (Ok I know it's not films but it works for me) with maybe a drop of red wine and a huge bowl of salad. That's when I'm feeling pious about the diet.
Otherwise a good trilogy like Lord of the Rings or Shrek with a big bag of Minstrels/Revels/(anything with lots of chocolate) and possibly film. Trouble with that is, all those sweets keep me awake all night so I don't do it on a schoolnight.
I love film night with my son - we spend the whole time talking over it and cracking jokes that relate to the films - usually around awful (and I mean excruciating) puns or quotes from other films.
Its A Wonderful Life with my wonderful ex ....

I think the ideal film night would be the following trio...
1. Life of Brian : This would enable the group to have a good giggle and settle everyone in. A few beers would be opened, wine drunk, nibbles nibbled and general good nature would ensue.
2. The Green Mile : Cos we'd all be weeping at the end and they'd see my macho, yet sensitive side.
3. Blade Runner : A real Sci fi film so as many ladies as possible get very bored very quickly and decide they'd rather shag instead.
which would lead on to...
4. Swinging Heaven's You've Been Framed... A collection of videos submitted by members of SH to form SH's very own hotbed of erotic amateur talent. (It's coming, I tell ya...) See ladies gush so much the cameraman needs a snorkel and flippers... See the serial wanker ejaculate half his own body weight in one session...See the man who misunderstood the term "fisting" and turned up with a boxing glove...
Guests would be anyone who wants a shag and who likes wine, beer and chocolate. Must be able to string a sentence together without dribbling into their lap and be inescapably horny at all times.
(PS. I wish I watched more of these arthouse films that edumacated people seem to like. I tried watching them, but it is too similar to being 15 and watching the foreign films late at night for a fleeting glimpse of tit)
