Don't you just love that Friday feeling biggrin Now, whenever I am out, I do often wonder if people are around me are swinging heaven members.
We have no secret handshake or nod to identify ourselves to others, no specific colour or bandanna to wear. So how can we make ourselves recognisable and, at the same time, not be so obvious that people ask what the hell we are up to
Maybe we need a little something to wear, like a discreet pin or something. I don't mean a giant badge with a cock pic on :lol2: just something small, recognisable to other members but something others wouldn't really look twice at. What about the SH logo, or just the letters SH intwined?
Is this just a loony idea from someone who is just peed off cos shes not out tonight? blink
Has it ever been discussed before? If so, what was the outcome of it?
Misschief I have seen this mentioned in the past and it sounds like a bloody good idea,
I believe a small badge would be in order..... probably harder to put into place though confused
V. true MrFC
Are there any Pin Makers in the house?
Well it's a start lol
rotflmao :rotflmao:
Please suggestions in the box ......... Badges , Handshakes, nose rubbing , who knows ................. biggrin
Anything so long as it doesn't look like I've got a nervous tic!! confused
Would love to know if I was actually bumping into anyone from here when I was out
Pins are relatively easy to get hold of to any design you want MISSCHIEFF. As with all things in this world there are minimum numbers with better price breaks depending on how many are ordered. I would be happy to source some details and report back to the forum if there is enough interest.
Ooooh Davej kiss
Could always price them up, it's a good a start as any. biggrin
How many is minimum?
I will check the catalogues tomorrow and report back to the forum, who knows it might be goer. Alternatively perhaps other members can suggest a symbol that is already available to purchase, that way no one has to organise a thing nor go to the bother of getting numbers and more awkwardly cash.
Now I wouldnt suggest the plastic red nose used on comic relief day as this would look shite on a saturday night out at a restuarant, but I am sure there is a common enough pin available through card stores etc that could be adopted. A small frog or similar seeing as most on here seem as mad as a boxfull of the little critters.
(writer exempt from being as mad as a box of frogs as the doctors have certified that I am sane )
I think Mark has to have an input, I suspect it is not asin easy as it sounds ie: copyright etc:
Davej rotflmao :rotflmao: :rotflmao: Red nose might not such a good plan. Little frog thing seems good tho, so long as we don't get in trouble again like the Hmmm Hmmm fiasco lol
I have PM'd Mark to tell him we are bashing ideas about etc and that it is only in the 'bashing about' phase at the moment ........ ooooohh he's just answered and said it's fine biggrin :D WOOOOHOOO!
biggrin :D :D
Let me know if I can be helpfull!
If you look at the SH logo why not have an oval pin which is graded red white and blue. It is innocuous, unrecognisable and easily identifiable. That way people could wear them with little chance of being identified or quizzed outside of swinging circles and it will match in some way every single outfit Misschief has in her wardrobe except that silly yellow and black furry number that she has not worn for 8 years anyway! wink

What a wonderful Idea, many groups and lifestyle organizations have pin badges as identification. As many people within and outside of the LGBT community know we have a rainbow as our emblem. Even the bars and clubs that are LGBT friendly display the logo, especially if they are in a certain area. usually somewhere near their business name. I do have a rainbow pin somewhere with the official eight colours, but I haven’t a clue where it is or I would have worn it to the next Munch. It’s very discreet and probably no more than one centimetre in total. I think the girls have a brooch and I have seen one necklace but I think that was made from the brooch anyway. People who don’t know just think it is something from the magic roundabout, figures dosnt it? :lol2: . However, we are very proud of our emblem. If you want a picture of the official eight striped LGBT ‘Rainbow Flag’ pm me and I will send you the web site address as it is not allowed to post the website directly on here, it also gives a brief history of the flag.

The rainbow flag is not only impractical for sporting uniform reasons, but more alarmingly, it's horribly garish. Did they let a hetro bloke pick it?
Great idea lol
I like Fred's idea..... something that only we in the know, know cool .
I used to have a number of pin badges, including a rainbow flag, oh and a cute little pink triangle ear ring. Lost them all now though - come on if I can lose a 10 inch vibro, what hope do badges and ear rings have confused wink
And just what would you do if you saw your parents, brother, sister wearing this pin? I know I for one would jump back in shock.
Well, there I was out last night thinking to myself "I know theres a number of forum and chat goers in the NE, wonder if I'm tripping over any" - it's a thought I've had before too I have to admit !
I get up this morning (admittedly feeling rather worse for wear), check the postings I missed last night and there's Misschief setting all this up !!
Aint she great ! cool
Carpathian
That sort of thing happens Matt,i have been a witness to at the end of the day we are all there for the same things.
Fred: I don't think the red-white-blue gradated oval or some other shape is such a good idea, because those colours suggest either France or the Netherlands....and national associations is not what it's about here biggrin
-Cauchey
Sounds like a fabulous idea.......I'm all for it.

It has nothing to do with National Identity - it is the colours of the website. But if we are talking National identities the Red white and blue are British colours as well!
I'm proud to be a British Swinger! lol
Here we go - first idea!

How does that grab you Misschief? wink
Fred
Oh Fred Fred, you clever thing you passionkiss
Thats great, love the idea of just the colours.
Ok just spent half an hour in Paint and got absolutely nowhere! grrr
Was trying to do the colours in 2 thick wavy stripes to see what it looked like.
Fred i love your design idea for a pin! i'd be up for ordering one of those if the idea materialises
The problem is that if you ever publish whatever emblem you intend to use it on this site, it will soon be reported by "journalists" all over the place and will end up the way this kind of "signs" usually end up:
1- hordes of single males (like me biggrin) start wearing it because they heard "girls who shag wear it" or something like that
2- women being stalked or harassed by aforementioned males quickly stop using it and dump it in the closest bin
So if you ever come up with some idea, better keep it quiet and share it only with the "regulars" (among whom I am not, unfortunately, but I have time ;) ) or maybe only in physical meetings, munches, etc. Same reasoning as with dogging locations, for example.
Putting this out on the net would ruin it instantly. In particular, I wouldn't be surprised to see your blue-white-red pin design magically appear in the next issue of NOTW or any other equivalent "publication" rotflmao

I think Thomas is right. Far better to keep it quiet and maybe allow Mods to invite people to accept one if they wish, after their creds are firmly established. I know it would cramp it a bit but it would make it really special.
Incidentally, I say this as one, who I don't think would qualify for an invitation (yet :!: ).
Good points well made.
I think most of the mentioned 'hordes' of single males are pretty respectful. It's just the very minority that are morons .... and I do wonder if the said morons were actually confronted with a woman with strong opinions of what she likes, whether they would either run away at a very fast pace or even shit themselves :lol2: ...... seriously tho, you do have a point. I would only wear my pin in certain social situations, usually when out with a group of people. Then there is the risk of that person getting nasty and blabbing to everyone I was with what the pin was rolleyes - there are ways and means to get rid of these types of people before it gets to that. It's a case of quickly sussing out the situation and dealing with it appropriately. After all, it can happen anyway, regardless of a pin. I think most single women on here have had some experience of dealing with the few morons, whether it be by PM or in real life. Luckily I have never had to deal with one of these people in real life, but I am quite prepared for it.
Rather than just regulars, I would prefer it to be a bit wider than that and extend it to members. I would love to bump into people who use this site even if they don't post on the forum or aren't chatroom regulars. It would be nice just to meet people and know that they have a similar outlook to me and know what I'm on about when I mention SH. Maybe have a certain amount of membership time under their belt to qualify? That breathing period, so people who are only members for a couple of weeks and never come back don't get the chance, or the inclination to get one. People who are still around after 3 months or so would know what the site was about. After all, this is a Swinging Heaven pin, to identify people that use this site, nothing more.
Hmmm am I being a bit optimistic there?
I do agree wholeheartedly about not showing the final design on the web. It would instantly give the meaning behind the pin away. Give non members the ability to approach you etc.
Maybe with each pin there is a little note that explains that it is not to identify swingers so much as identify people who use this site?
Thank you for you comments Thomas, given me real food for thought there biggrin
I think you all should wear sandwich boards stating 'I've shagged Stan Collymore'.

What about after a certain number of posts say 100 - isn't that the true test of true forum member confused: :?:
I'll shut up now because I'm not really qualified to say much about this sort of thing.

I think the time line is a better idea as it is possible to post over 100 in a week but if you have been reading the cafe forums for over 3 months then chances are you will know what the site is about and enjoy the company therefore in.
Will this 'pin' be given to all members automaticaly if requested after the such time limit? A lot of the (how can I put this nicely) less articulate members who tend to only post in the lets meet up or dogging do not really learn or accept the life style.
I would really like to see an initiation happen. Maybe a huge gathering (big munch) twice a year or something similar, where the next batch of applicants go to recieve their honory swingers heaven pin. Like a graduation do. This would save on posting the pins out to everybody and most people will get to meet the newer members.
Speaking as one who has gone well past the 100 mark without realising it I feel you have a point. However, there are people, who could join, disappear for 6 months, and in the process pick up none of the behaviours of the site and still qualify. I think a compromise is the question to the answer - a judicious combination of time and volume what about that confused: :?:
sounds brilliant, would love to wear it with pride and horniness biggrin
