I have a tom tom go.
I was told today about tom tom buddies, has anyone else got this or knows someone who does, and it is beneficial.??

I'm sorry I can't help either.
All I know is that I lost me maps card and got lost on the way to meet friends on the weekend. Really frustrating losing quality time with quality people.

I didn't see the point of TomTom and would always use a map book. It drove me nuts that Ian wanted to use the damned thing everytime we went anywhere.
Until Sunday when I used it myself, now I think it is bloody excellent :thumbup:

think there's new software out for the tom toms that allows it biggrin

handy for us as were alway's getting lost down South even with the bleeding tom tom ! :shock: lol

I have been informed that "Buddies" is only for the more modern Tom Tom:- ie, the 510 and 710 and later.
The original Tom Tom (the Tom Tom Go) can not connect to the service as it needs Blue Tooth capability along with a mobile phone, also blue tooth.
Best I can do for you hun. I suggest a look at the Tom Tom site.

I spent most of last night looking at tom tom web site, it seems you do need a NEW tom tom with wireless to do such things as buddies and so does your buddies the other end!!!
(Sounds like some sort of lets get sales up of new tom toms time!)
How ever did update mine to version 6 point something or other! (having not up dated it for nearly a year! redface

)
And it seem that once you have the version 6 you can 4 digit password it via my go.............I have yet to go this tonight, but in theory if it gets stolen etc then no one else should be able to turn it on. (but like I said I have yet to do this)
