Just been watching Beeb 3 (yes i know but we were bored) and they were going on about funeral the fave song to have on is Robbie "i love myself but i'm so hard done by" Williams-Angels (some of you know how much i love him).God knows how they do these sort of surveys but hey,who cares.
Anyway it got us thinking about the type of music we would have at our funerals and for the life of me i cant think of anything the top of my head i'd say something like Depeche Mode-Personal Jesus and possibly The Birdie song to end with (could you actually use that?).
What would you all like to have played at your funeral??I'll get back when i can think of some better songs.
That is probably my 5th post of the all of you who don't know i'm the farty, less gorgeous (just),not so talkative (unless ive had a few) other half of Clare_Lincs.
Three tunes I want at my funeral:
O Fortuna from Karl Orff's Carmina Burana.
Albinoni's Adagio in Gm.
Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell.
In that order please
`An American Prayer`, Jim Morrison. Don`t know which bit yet, so anyone at my funeral can sit though the entire album.....and like it!
Either that or `My old Man`s a Dustman`
Haven`t decided whether to have a funeral yet. For 35 quid, my family could give my body to medical science. Cremations and Funerals are far too expensive!

Well jimmy played harmonica in the pub where I was born
He played it from the night time to the peaceful early morn
He soothed the souls of psychos and the men who had the horn
And they all looked very happy in the morning
Now jimmy didn’t like his place in this world of ours
Where the elephant man broke strong men’s necks
When he’d had too many powers
So sad to see the grieving of the people that he’s leaving
And he took the road for God knows in the morning
We walked him to the station in the rain
We kissed him as we put him on the train
And we sang him a song of times long gone
Though we knew that we’d be seeing him again
(far away) sad to say I must be on my way
So buy me beer and whiskey ’cause I’m going far away (far away)
I’d like to think of me returning when I can
To the greatest little boozer and to sally maclennane
The years passed by the times had changed I grew to be a man
I learned to love the virtues of sweet sally maclennane
I took the jeers and drank the beers and crawled back home at dawn
And ended up a barman in the morning
I played the pump and took the hump and watered whiskey down
I talked of whores and horses to the men who drank the brown
I heard them say that jimmy’s making money far away
And some people left for heaven without warning
We walked him to the station in the rain
We kissed him as we put him on the train
And we sang him a song of times long gone
Though we knew that we’d be seeing him again
(far away) sad to say I must be on my way
So buy me beer and whiskey ’cause I’m going far away (far away)
I’d like to think of me returning when I can
To the greatest little boozer and to sally maclennane
When jimmy came back home he was surprised that they were gone
He asked me all the details of the train that they went on
Some people they are scared to croak but jimmy drank until he choked
And he took the road for heaven in the morning
We walked him to the station in the rain
We kissed him as we put him on the train
And we sang him a song of times long gone
Though we knew that we’d be seeing him again
(far away) sad to say I must be on my way
So buy me beer and whiskey ’cause I’m going far away (far away)
I’d like to think of me returning when I can
To the greatest little boozer and to sally maclennane
No way am I having a religious ceremony, which is very different.. After seeing the prices of Bio-degradable cardboard coffins  (which is also very different), when arranging Father-in-laws funeral....yup, the more I think about it, the more I think `medical science`.......
Naah, fuckit, just science. The possibilities are endless :borg:

i think that would suit me down to the ground
'In a Lonely Place' - New Order
'Atmosphere' - Joy Division
Anything by a gloomy Manchester band...
November Rain, assuming i die in November, otherwise it would be Dont Cry or Estranged by Guns and Roses
Not a dry eye in the house (played it at my friends funeral)
Something pretty, probably by REM
