I think you hit the nail on the head with 'egos'. It's very easy to be behind the computer and so yeah i'll do that or be the extension of the 'real' person you are. So when push comes to shove and your suddenly going to be put in front of someone men do what men do - make excuses.
Personally i think people who allow it to come that far are 'booooooo' - wanting to be someone your not and come across as 'genuine' and intersted etc etc is, well something i think EVERYONE has done at some point in their lives - come on be honest, we've all 'bigged' ourselves up once in a while - however messing people about in the process and having people arrage meets and make the effort is not the way.
I personally would rather take a 'rejection' up front than 'play the big man' and then have to back track with excuses and piss people off.

It looks like the chat application is running out of handles;
There's what looks to be a winapi error occuring;
12001 Error: ERROR_INTERNET_OUT_OF_HANDLES: No more handles could be generated at this time.
It may be worth checking if the underlying componants are correctly opening and freeing handles. From what i can determine these 'should' get reused once open (best pratice) however it may be some are getting opened but remain 'locked' or allocated even if the relevant process has finished with them.
Just a possible route of troubleshooting.

There was defo a page that solely showed online people rather than using search and changing the settings!!

Am i being stupid (in relation this this question - not generally, i know the answer to that) but where's the page that allowed you to view who was online and with the option of changing the distance and gender options??
