I read this a "Large Hard-On Collider"
Probably not a good idea at those speeds.

Splendid is on the button with this without doubt. Our town used to quake when the Para's came through on masse on their way to or from somewhere else (with huge friggin headaches too i bet) but seriously they used to take the town apart pub by pub and by the time the county had assembled enough police to even attempt some sort of control the whirlwind had passed. The damage caused at times was in the least extreme and the behaviour likewise.
How about a dozen or more para's out of their box playing a game which involved them sh**ing on a table?? whats all that about eh? and in a restaurant part of a pub with kids present gross! Yeah, I know I was there, watching the parents trying to usher the kids out of the place, walking over carpets sounding like a shingle beach due to the amount of broken glass om it.
That doesn't happen nowadays why? because the pubs won't let them in. If the guy in th OP was genuine then thats a shame, of course it is but prevention is better and safer than cure. When the forces lads and lasses go out on a bender then the really only the forces should have to deal with it

Sorry lost but why do people choose to go way off tangent all the time? dunno
This thread was about ONE soldier looking for a bed for the night. Not a bunch of pissed up paras looking to destroy a hotel. Please keep things in perspective.
Now it had gone from a soldier to a gang of them. How things can move on from what was first talked about.
This is not off tangent, this is explaining the reason why certain hotels feel the need to have a policy that instructs their staff that the risks of doing business with certain groups is too high. Surely it is up to the business to decide who they wish to do business with, within the provisions of the law. It is clear from the proceeding discussion that there is at the very least a perceived issue with the recreational behaviour of the armed forces and therefore addressing this rather than blaming others would be the most positive course of action.

No I don't, but if you find one I'll come biggrin

Gosh. Immaculate.
Both at the same time, at the time. Not Leslie Ash these days look what happened last time, Lee Chapman was none to pleased.
Kapinksy, not a fan of what comes out of her mouth but me coming in her mouth sounds good
Just something I have been pondering a while and my memory of this was jogged by marksub's thread fetish in the sticks.
I thinks there is something in this, what views are out there.
As a bloke at my old work wsa famous for sasying - "Its not as simple as that." Go on, go on, go on.
