Unfortunately it does seem that more and more meetings are being cancelled in this way, I have had it happen to me on several occassions even on this sight.
Can I suggest that you try and attend any of the munchies that are organised. I can recomend them as they are a great way to meet genuinley nice people who won't mess you about.
